Summary of Job Duties:
The role of the Graduate Assistant/ Men's Basketball Operations Manager entails assisting the Head Men's Basketball coach with the overall organization and administrative duties of the program. This includes: planning of special events, on-campus recruitment, team travel, housing, and meal arrangements for the men's basketball team in a manner which is consistent with the policies of UA Little Rock, NCAA, and Ohio Valley Conference. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education;
  • Regular admission to a UA Little Rock graduate degree program or good standing with the UA Little Rock Graduate School for continuing graduate students;
  • Ability to work the required hours (FT-50% - 20 hours per week/PT-25% - 10 hours per week) with regular attendance.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Program Operations;
  • Maintain communication about budget with administration and staff;
  • Plan all team travel including flights, busses, etc.;
  • Plan pre and post-game team meals;
  • Make arrangements for team during school breaks (i.e. holiday meals and housing, per diems);
  • Schedule basketball activities (practice times, individual workout times & facility reservations);
  • Order equipment including but not limited to; uniforms, shoes, warm-ups, practice attire, coaching attire, and casual attire as it relates to the program;
  • Game Contracts.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Ability to work nights and weekends;
  • Ability to effectively communicate through oral, written, and electronic forms;
  • Ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions;
  • Possess the intellect, insights, influence, and managerial skills to operate and oversee the events and facilities division of Intercollegiate Athletics;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member to complete assigned tasks and meeting deadlines.
