Job description

26-27 Friends of Baseball Development & Partnerships VISTA

Friends of Baseball is a Portland-based nonprofit dedicated to enhancing childrenโ€™s lives through the power of sport as a vehicle for youth development. For over 20 years, we have worked to remove barriers to participation by providing free and low-cost programs that center belonging, mentorship, and opportunity for youth from underserved communities. Our work connects young people to positive role models, builds confidence, and creates pathways to leadership, education, and future success. The Development and Partnerships VISTA will play a key role in strengthening the systems that sustain and grow this impact. This position focuses on building fundraising infrastructure, supporting donor engagement strategies, and expanding partnerships that increase access to programming. The VISTA will research and organize donor and partner pipelines, support campaign planning, and develop systems that improve how we engage supporters and track growth over time. This is a capacity-building role designed to create long-term sustainability, not direct service.

Member Duties

The VISTA at Friends of Baseball will serve as part of the 2026โ€“27 Coach Across America cohort, building the organizationโ€™s capacity for development and partnerships. The VISTA will develop and organize donor and partner pipelines, support the design and coordination of fundraising campaigns, and create systems to track engagement, communication, and growth. They will research prospective donors and partners, develop outreach materials, and establish consistent stewardship processes. The VISTA will also support the implementation of tools and workflows that improve internal coordination and longโ€‘term sustainability. This role focuses on building systems and strategies that strengthen revenue generation and expand access to youth development opportunities.
