Job description

We currently have a career opportunity for a Senior Azure Solutions Architect to join our team, located in the United States. You will serve as the lead technical architect on a strategic Financial Services and Insurance client engagement, with the opportunity to shape both delivery and presales for the account.

Job Overview: This role begins as a hands-on Azure Foundations and governance engagement and is expected to evolve into a longer-term staff augmentation relationship spanning IAM remediation, audit readiness, Azure governance, and an active backlog of Azure infrastructure and platform initiatives delivered in an agile, iterative model.

This is a highly visible, client-facing role. The ideal candidate combines deep, current Azure architecture expertise with the presence and communication skills to advise client stakeholders directly - including IT leadership and audit/compliance teams - and is equally comfortable supporting pre-sales efforts (scoping, SOW input, solution positioning) for follow-on and adjacent opportunities.

Perficient is the global AI and technology consulting firm disrupting the traditional consulting model. Powered by our 7,000+ advisors, engineers, and designers, Perficient implements AI-first solutions that break conventions and deliver outcomes that matter. Proudly serving clients that represent the world's most innovative brands, and in collaboration with our powerful technology partner ecosystem, we bring deep industry expertise and data-driven design to redefine how businesses run and succeed. Perficient is different. For real. Learn more at perficient.com.
    • 15+ years of professional experience in enterprise IT infrastructure and cloud architecture, with deep, current hands-on Azure expertise.

    • Demonstrated expertise across Azure governance, landing zones, Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF), Well-Architected Framework (WAF), IAM/RBAC, and security.

    • Hands-on proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code practices in an enterprise Azure environment.

    • Experience with Azure Policy at scale, including Policy-as-Code approaches (e.g., EPAC) and ALZ policy frameworks.

    • Strong track record advising C-suite and senior client stakeholders, with the presence and communication skills to lead client discussions independently.

    • Experience operating in regulated industries (financial services, insurance, healthcare, or similar), including audit readiness and compliance-driven remediation.

    • Demonstrated capability supporting presales motions - solution scoping, SOW development, and technical/solution positioning - alongside active delivery work.

    • Active, current Azure certifications required; Azure Solutions Architect Expert and/or Cybersecurity Architect Expert strongly preferred.

    • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support data-informed task execution.

    • Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience.

Preferred Skills and Education:

    • Experience with Conditional Access and Privileged Identity Management (PIM) design at an enterprise scale.

    • Familiarity with Azure Virtual Network Manager (AVNM) and GitHub-based IaC/artifact repository migrations.

    • Multi-cloud exposure (AWS, GCP) and FinOps experience.

    • Prior experience in a consulting or professional services delivery model, including staff augmentation engagements

  • Design and implement new IAM structures and shared-resource patterns to support Azure Landing Zone (ALZ) alignment.

  • Align RBAC and management group access models to Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) principles, and define a repeatable testing approach for validating access changes.

  • Lead Azure Policy implementation, including Enterprise Policy as Code (EPaC) setup, ALZ policy framework alignment, and policy deployment/exemption management.

    • Review and evolve Terraform resource modules and landing zone modules to improve Well-Architected Framework (WAF) and CAF alignment, and assess policy-effect alignment with Terraform supportability.

    • Drive Infrastructure-as-Code operationalization and backlog execution, including codifying security baselines into IaC and enabling Azure Virtual Network Manager (AVNM).

    • Provide architectural recommendations for App Service configuration and integration with other Azure services, and support GitHub migration for IaC and artifact repositories.

    • Support internal knowledge transfer and onboarding of new team members as the engagement scales, ensuring consistent methodology and delivery quality.

    • Contribute to presales activities as needed - including scoping conversations, Statement of Work (SOW) input, and solution/technical positioning - for follow-on work and adjacent opportunities.
