Job description

About the role
We are hiring a Senior Associate to join our Product Compliance team to support Chime's products and services with a focus on payments and credit cards. As a Senior Associate, you will help shape new and existing products by partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, Legal, and Compliance teams to identify regulatory requirements early and build practical solutions that support both compliance and member experience. You'll monitor the evolving regulatory landscape, assess impacts to Chime products and services, and help ensure we continue to unlock financial progress for our members while scaling responsibly. You will also collaborate with our issuing bank partners' legal and compliance teams to develop innovative and sustainable compliance risk management solutions.
The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $101,000.00 and up to $140,000.00. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect to
  • Demonstrate expertise in consumer laws and regulations related to consumer financial products, including but not limited to Regulation Z, UDAAP, Regulation E, Regulation DD, the Bank Secrecy Act, and applicable state money transmission requirements.
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, Legal, and Compliance teams to integrate compliance requirements into new and existing products and features.
  • Evaluate product compliance risks and provide practical guidance that supports business objectives while maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Lead or support remediation efforts for products and processes within your scope, helping drive sustainable corrective actions.
  • Monitor emerging regulatory developments and assess potential impacts to Chime products, controls, and member experiences.
  • Support compliance management system activities, including policy and procedure maintenance, documentation development, audits, examinations, and issue management.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and issuing bank compliance teams.
To thrive in this role, you have
  • 6+ years of experience in banking, credit, payments, deposits, fintech, or a related product compliance function.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of key regulations including UDAAP, FTC requirements, TILA (Reg Z), Regulation E, Regulation DD, FCRA, Bank Secrecy Act requirements, VISA rules, and state money transmission laws.
  • Experience researching, interpreting, and applying banking regulations, industry guidance, and regulatory expectations to product decisions.
  • Experience conducting compliance risk assessments and translating findings into practical business recommendations.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, with experience independently executing compliance management system activities.
  • Ability to operate autonomously, solve complex problems, and develop practical solutions with minimal oversight.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and influence internal stakeholders and external partners to achieve alignment on regulatory risk issues and mitigation strategies.
