Job description

Senior Analyst, Asset ManagementPosition Overview

Our client is a leading institutional real estate investment organization seeking a Senior Analyst to support the asset management and portfolio oversight of a diverse multifamily residential investment portfolio.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior asset management professionals to enhance asset performance, support investment strategies, and provide analytical insights across a range of property types and business plans. The portfolio includes assets in various stages of the investment lifecycle, including development, value-add, and stabilized/core investments.

This role offers significant exposure to acquisitions, portfolio management, property operations, capital improvement initiatives, and disposition activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support asset management teams in the execution of business plans and investment strategies across a multifamily portfolio.
  • Analyze operating performance, leasing activity, occupancy trends, and financial results to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Gather and evaluate information from internal and external data sources to support investment decision-making.
  • Assist in preparing quarterly and annual asset reports, business plans, and investor reporting materials.
  • Monitor leasing performance metrics and collaborate with property management teams to optimize property operations.
  • Evaluate operational initiatives and capital investment programs designed to improve asset value and financial performance.
  • Participate in annual budgeting, forecasting, and business planning processes.
  • Support the review and approval of capital expenditures consistent with approved business plans.
  • Perform property-level financial analysis, valuation modeling, and hold/sell recommendations.
  • Assist with internal valuation processes and external appraisal reviews.
  • Participate in property operating, leasing, and ownership meetings while maintaining strong relationships with operating partners and service providers.
  • Support acquisition, disposition, and development initiatives, including financial analysis and due diligence activities.
  • Review property financial statements, operating performance, market conditions, and competitive positioning.
  • Maintain property and portfolio-level financial models and valuation files.
  • Analyze lease transactions and operating agreements.
  • Prepare presentations, ad hoc analyses, and strategic reports for senior management.
  • Contribute to portfolio management, research, and special projects as needed.
QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-graduate experience in:
    • Asset Management
    • Real Estate Investment Management
    • Commercial Real Estate
    • Acquisitions
    • Portfolio Management
    • Real Estate Private Equity
Technical Skills
  • Strong financial analysis and modeling capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience with Argus Enterprise is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of real estate valuation methodologies, cash flow modeling, and investment analysis.
