The Role

The Senior Architect (RA) is responsible for providing technical leadership on complex architectural projects, ensuring that designs meet both client expectations and regulatory requirements. This role involves overseeing the technical development of projects, guiding design teams, and serving as a subject matter expert in architectural design and construction practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of detailed and innovative architectural solutions for complex projects, ensuring that designs meet client requirements and comply with building codes and regulations
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance throughout the design process, reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors, addressing technical questions and ensuring project goals are met
  • Oversee the integration of building systems (e.g., structural, mechanical, electrical) into architectural designs, coordinating with consultants to ensure seamless execution
  • Lead project teams, mentoring junior architects and designers, and providing guidance on design challenges, technical issues, and project execution
  • Ensure that all projects adhere to sustainability standards and best practices, including LEED, WELL, and other environmental certifications as applicable
  • Conduct quality control reviews of design and construction documentation at key project milestones, ensuring compliance with both firm standards and client expectations
  • Participate in on-site inspections and construction administration activities, ensuring that construction adheres to the design intent and resolving any technical issues that arise
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure that project schedules and budgets are maintained, providing technical input to help mitigate risks and avoid delays
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in materials, incorporating innovative solutions into project designs
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals, presentations, and client meetings, showcasing the firm’s technical expertise and project experience
