Information Technology Senior Architect

The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Information Technology Senior Architect to join the team in Auburn, WA; Seattle, WA; Tukwila, WA; El Segundo, CA, Hazelwood, MO; Berkeley, MO; or North Charleston, SC.

Boeing's Information Digital Technology & Security (IDT&S) organization is seeking a Senior Architect to support Boeing Engineering, with primary alignment to the IT Business Partner organizations supporting Boeing Additive Manufacturing and AvionX.

In this role, the selected candidate will serve as a trusted architecture partner, helping shape and guide technology solutions that enable engineering and business objectives. The Senior Architect will bring deep knowledge of Boeing IDT&S processes, enterprise architecture practices, solution design, and product offerings to support strategic initiatives, technical decision-making, and governance activities. This individual will collaborate closely with business, engineering, security, and technology stakeholders to ensure solutions are aligned with enterprise standards, scalable for future growth, and optimized to deliver business value.

This role will also contribute to architecture reviews, support exception/waiver processes, and help define data flows and data modeling approaches to advance integration, interoperability, and information sharing across the enterprise.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architectural design and development of complex projects from concept through completion

  • Develop design strategies that balance functionality, performance, scalability, budget, schedule, and technical requirements

  • Prepare and review design drawings, specifications, technical documentation, and presentation materials

  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and internal policies

  • Present design concepts and recommendations to leadership, clients, and governance forums

  • Participate in and support the Architecture Review Board process, including evaluation of design decisions and submission of waiver requests as needed

  • Document, justify, and present architectural exceptions (waivers) for review and approval

  • Define, analyze, and document data flows and models across systems, applications, and business processes to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and integration requirements

  • Collaborate with internal IT teams and engineering stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior architects and project team members

  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in architecture and design

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of experience creating system architectures/design

  • 5+ years of experience working in a cross-functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience within Boeing IDT&S

  • Experience communicating complex concepts clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Experience working in an aerospace domain

  • Experience in cloud security architecture and design, with a focus on major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Architecture experience with digital factory integration with automated factory machines
