We develop proprietary software that learns and adjusts to the habits of each person as it delivers immersive content that guides them on their own individual fitness journey.
We are currently seeking an ambitious pace-setter to join our team as a Product Test Engineer (OS and Automation) hybrid in Logan, Utah.
iFIT is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Product Test Engineer to play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products through robust testing, validation, and process improvement initiatives. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams - including Engineering, App Development, and the app testing group - to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of the Android OS and tablet hardware embedded within our products. You will drive our testing strategy, ensuring the seamless validation of new hardware and software updates while identifying potential risks to improve overall testing efficiency and accuracy. Your primary focus will be designing and developing robust automation scripts, alongside executing manual tests for scenarios that require a hands-on approach.
COMPENSATION
$85,000 - $95,000
ROLE COMMITMENTS
  • Assist in VAVE programs by completing proper documentation and procedures to help reduce cost, and updating and reviewing procedures and results within the TestRail configuration of the VAVE initiative.
  • Integrate additional fixtures into testing cages to enable more efficient and effective testing for new and existing modalities.
  • Establish a TestRail project for the treadmill modality to encapsulate and standardize the complete testing of the modality.
  • Empower the use of AI to increase productivity, improve procedure protocols, and enhance test reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, write, and implement automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency, accuracy, and cycle time for Android OS validations.
  • Perform hands-on tests that cannot be done with automation to validate new tablet hardware and Android OS.
  • Make technical contributions as part of a specialized team of software and product test engineers.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive test plans focused on Android OS and embedded tablet validation for new product development.
  • Participate in the NPI testing process from initial OS design validation to post-launch assessment, ensuring that OS updates and tablet integrations meet quality and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, App Development, and Quality Assurance to define software test requirements, ensure alignment, and drive process improvements.
  • Establish, refine, and execute test protocols, methodologies, and automation strategies to ensure robust OS and app performance under various conditions.
  • Lead root cause analysis and troubleshooting for software bugs, OS crashes, and automation script failures, working with development teams to resolve and prevent future occurrences.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging data and insights to enhance software test efficiency and overall product quality.
  • Provide detailed, actionable reports to senior leadership on test results, progress, and risks, ensuring clear communication of findings and mitigation strategies.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education and Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in product test engineering or validation.
  • Familiarity with the NPI process and hands-on experience with product testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong background in test methodologies, test equipment, and automated testing processes.
  • Experience developing test programs using software languages such as Python or similar.
  • Proven ability to work within a cross-functional team, collaborating with other team members and supporting multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Highly motivated to achieve both team and individual goals.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience writing quality, testable, maintainable code using AI.
  • Experience in testing consumer products, medical devices, or similar industries.
  • Familiarity with test automation tools and software.
  • Six Sigma or similar process improvement certification.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
