Summary
The Senior Analyst - Port Profitability & Optimization supports port profitability and optimization initiatives by owning data analysis, system-level data management, and cross-functional coordination across port operations. This person will be responsible for developing and maintaining data structures, delivering financial and operational insights, and driving process improvements. The Senior Analyst works closely with the Profitability Manager, port teams, vendors, customers, and GLOVIS Korea (GHQ), including recurring communication to ensure alignment, reporting accuracy, and execution of business objectives.
Responsibilities
  • Port Operations, Financial Analysis & Data Management
    • Collect, validate, and analyze financial and operational data from ports, vendors, customers, and internal systems to ensure accuracy and consistency
    • Perform port-level profitability analysis, including variance analysis, trend identification, and KPI tracking
    • Develop, maintain, and optimize datasets used for dashboards, reporting, and recurring performance reviews
    • Identify data inconsistencies, gaps, and anomalies to drive resolution with stakeholders
    • Support audit and compliance activities through data validation, reconciliation, and documentation
  • Advanced Data & System Ownership
    • Own end-to-end analysis and data management for assigned ports, including data validation, issue identification, and insight generation
    • Extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets using Advanced Excel, SQL, Access, or similar tools
    • Support development and improvement of data structures, queries, and reporting logic to enhance data accuracy and accessibility
    • Ensure alignment between operational and financial data across internal databases
    • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency through data structuring, query optimization, and reporting improvements
  • Stakeholder Communication & Process Coordination
    • Communicate regularly with port operations teams, vendors, customers, and third-party carriers to gather data, clarify issues, and align on improvements
    • Conduct recurring communication with GHQ including reporting, issue follow-up, and coordination
    • Support resolution of billings discrepancies, data issues, and process gaps through cross-functional coordination
    • Lead data-related process improvements, including reporting standardization, KPI refinement and data governance practices
    • Support standardization and optimization of port-related operational and reporting processes
  • Strategic & Special Projects
    • Support ad-hoc analysis, executive reporting, and special projects related to port profitability and optimization
    • Assist in system enhancement initiatives, including testing, validation, and data integrity improvements
    • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives supporting operational efficiency and data reliability
    • Other duties as assigned

Compensation
$58,000 - $63,000 Per Year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)
