We are building our engineering team at CJ Schwanโs large Asian foods plant in Beaumont, CA. Under general supervision from our Sr. Director of the plant, the Senior Reliability Engineer will examine and monitor current production equipment and develop reliability solutions to maximize production line effectiveness and efficiency. The incumbent will perform analyses to identify improvement areas and implement reliability and maintainability solutions to overcome production challenges.
What You Will Do
- Measure and analyze the reliability of the design, materials, processes, cost, and final products of production equipment.
- Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations including capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues. Data analysis techniques may include statistical process control, reliability modeling and prediction, fault tree analysis, Weibull tree analysis, and six sigma methodology.
- Professionally and systematically define designs, develop, monitor and refine an asset maintenance plan that includes valueโadded preventive maintenance tasks and effective utilization of predictive and other nonโdestructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems.
- Participate in the development of criteria for and evaluation of equipment and technical suppliers and technical maintenance service providers.
- Develop acceptance tests and inspection criteria.
- Advise design engineering team on selection of materials. May also recommend changes to the selection and application of production equipment.
- Perform breakdown analysis and root cause analysis thoroughly, presenting findings to senior leadership.
What We Look For
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Must obtain reโcertification by SMRP standard or equivalent within 2 years in this role.
- 7+ years related experience in maintenance and reliability, production management, engineering or operations (previous food industry experience preferred).
- Knowledgeable in reliability testing methods including FMEA/FMECA, reliability prediction, fault tree analysis, parts stress analysis, and worstโcase analysis.
- Working knowledge in statistical methods; strong technical problemโsolving skills and proven project management experience with coordination of multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication (both written and verbal) skills, excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Willing and able to travel up to 10โ20% of the time to other CJ Schwanโs facilities.

The base salary range for this position is $93,000 โ $154,000 annually with eligibility for a 10% annual incentive bonus, which is based on organizational performance.
