Job Summary:
The Ferrous Materials Inspector is responsible for inspecting incoming ferrous materials to ensure they meet company specifications and quality standards. This role also involves purchasing compliant materials and maintaining accurate documentation. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of operating in a fast-paced environment.


Pay Rate:26.00-28.00 hr 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe working environment by following all company safety policies and procedures.

  • Examine customer-delivered ferrous materials to identify the appropriate commodity classification.

  • Determine the purchase category and approve or reject materials based on established specifications.

  • Utilize a computer kiosk to input purchases and process transactions.

  • Inspect materials to confirm compliance with internal quality control standards and applicable regulations.

  • Apply approval or rejection markings as needed and document inspection findings in detailed reports.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate required.

  • 1-3 months of relevant experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English; Spanish language skills are a plus but not required.

  • Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn internal systems.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to make sound decisions based on inspection criteria.
