Job description

Our client, a growing advanced manufacturing organization, is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to drive operational excellence across multiple production facilities. The ideal candidate is a collaborative engineering professional with strong project management experience, a Lean manufacturing mindset, and a passion for solving complex production challenges. This position supports two manufacturing locations and requires occasional travel between facilities. The anticipated salary for this position is between $80,000 and $105,000 a year.
Responsibilities:
· Lead continuous improvement initiatives that increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve manufacturing efficiency.
· Identify and implement process improvements that reduce setup times, improve throughput, extend tool life, and minimize scrap.
· Analyze production processes to improve first-pass yield, quality, and equipment performance.
· Utilize structured problem-solving methodologies to identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
· Manage multiple engineering projects from planning through implementation while coordinating cross-functional teams, maintenance personnel, contractors, and vendors.
· Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies, equipment, and automation solutions.
· Conduct time studies and workflow analyses to optimize labor utilization and production processes.
· Promote a strong safety culture by supporting compliance initiatives, participating in safety audits, and recommending process improvements.
· Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and leadership teams to support operational goals.
· Support engineering activities across two manufacturing facilities with occasional travel.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
· Minimum of 7 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
· At least 5 years of project management experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence methodologies.
· Experience conducting time studies and process optimization.
· Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
· Demonstrated success leading manufacturing improvement projects that deliver measurable business results.
Preferred Skills:
· Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, manufacturing methods, and quality systems.
· Experience with automation, process optimization, and manufacturing equipment.
· Working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, controls, mechanical systems, and electrical design principles.
· Proficiency with CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools.
· Experience using SAP or other ERP systems.
· Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
· Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management abilities.
· Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
· Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
· Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
· Willingness to travel approximately 1-2 times per month to support an additional manufacturing facility.
