Job Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing accounting duties at a professional level while collaborating with the accounting group and other business units to support the organization's financial reporting and operational needs.
This position carries responsibilities in the following areas:
Month-End Close
Financial Statements
Quarterly Reporting
Journal Entries
Account Reconciliations
Accruals and Allocations
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare financial statements and management reports
Prepare various financial analysis reports during month-end close
Review profit and loss statements by job and crew
Support financial reporting and provide insights to leadership
Month-End Close Activities
Prepare accruals and allocations for GL accounts
Prepare journal entries for prepayments, revenue and expense accruals, and other adjustments
Prepare workpapers and supporting documentation for reconciled accounts
Review transactions posted by staff to ensure accurate coding and classification
Account Reconciliations
Reconcile intercompany balances
Collaborate with Human Resources, Payroll, Billing, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable to investigate and resolve discrepancies
Ensure reconciliations are supported with appropriate documentation
Fixed Asset Management
Manage Fixed Assets using Creative Solutions and QuickBooks
Process asset additions and disposals
Reconcile the fixed asset register
Coordinate asset activity with the Fleet department
Lease & Loan Management
Maintain lease amortization schedules
Create payment schedules for new loans and leases
Financial Planning & Compliance Support
Provide information and support during the annual budget process
Assist with audit requests, insurance renewals, and tax reporting requirements
Additional Responsibilities
Prepare ad hoc reports and financial analysis as needed
Support improvements in accounting processes and financial reporting
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
3-5+ years of accounting experience preferred
CPA or CPA-eligible status preferred
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Strong organizational and time management skills
High level of professionalism and integrity
Leadership and collaboration skills
Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
Strong data analysis and data entry skills
Working Conditions
Work performed in a professional office environment
Requires operation of standard office equipment and computer systems

Requires close visual acuity for reviewing financial data and working on a computer
