Job description

TITLE: Home Health Aide (HHA) / In-Home Caregiver
WHO SHOULD APPLY:
  • Active STNAs, CNAs, and DSPs (DODD), including new grads
  • HHAs and PCAs with 1+ years caregiving experience
  • 1+ year paid home care experience preferred (agency experience a plus)

CARE LOCATION & TRAVEL:
  • MUST travel throughout Seneca County (~30-min radius) includin: Tiffin, Fostoria, Green Springs, Bloomville, Attica + surrounding areas
  • 45-60 min radius preferred ("road warriors" receive priority)
    • May also be required for those seeking Full-Time schedules, plus adjacent counties (not required)
  • Reliable transportation required

SCHEDULES AVAILABLE:
  • Weekday
    • Typical Day shifts: ~7-9am start / 2-7pm end (requires multiple clients)
    • AM or PM blocks: 2-6 hour shifts (single or multiple clients)
    • Pediatric/Student cases (rare/limited): Requires extreme flexibility and reliable ability to shift between After School schedules (~2-5pm start times and 5-9pm end times) and Summer + Holiday Breaks (~4-8hr day shifts w/ possible weekend hours)
  • Weekend
    • Typical Day shifts: ~6-10am start / ~12-5pm end (incl. single or multiple clients)
    • Options: Sat, Sun, both days (Sat + Sun), or every other weekend (1 or both days)
    • Some roles may include transporting clients (requires excellent driving record + HCN-supported insurance)
  • Other Options
    • Hybrid (weekday + weekend): fastest placement / consistent hours [highly desired!]
    • Respite / PRN: flexible, on-demand or pre-scheduled shifts outside of typical weekly schedule
    • Nights: Rare. Applicants complete hiring process and "wait" for case availability, or accept cases during other times to secure employment / pay in a timely manner.

EMPLOYMENT TYPES AVAILABLE | Long-term / 2+ year commitments for all types is preferred:
  • Part-Time: ~5-20 hrs/week (up to 31/wk)
  • Full-Time: 32-40 and 40+ (if OT desired).
    • New hires start at PT and build to full schedule within ~30 days.
  • Caregivers committed to long-term (2+ year) employment are preferred.

COMPENSATION:
  • Certified Caregivers with qualified experience start at $16 - $19 per hour
  • Non-Certified or First-Time Caregivers start at $15 - $16.50 per hour

Home Care Network, Inc. is seeking experienced, compassionate, and professional Home Health Aides (STNA, CNA & DSP/DODD highly desirable | CHHA, HHA & PCA also encouraged to apply) to join our home health agency and support clients throughout Seneca County, OH (all cities and townships) and adjacent Counties when applicable.
Caregivers at HCN are professional, compassionate, and always reliable, consistently delivering critical care and living services to our clients which empower their independence and provide comfort, stability, and peace of mind to them and their families. A successful HCN Home Healthcare Aide provides personal care services under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Therapist in their region. You will be assigned to specific clients by the Registered Nurse or other appropriate professionals and perform services for clients as necessary to maintain personal comfort and safety in their home.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with ADLs & personal care (hygiene, bathing, dressing, mobility, positioning, transfers)
  • Nutrition & Meal / Meal Prep Support
  • Homemaking & Environmental Support (IADLs) including light housekeeping, errands, and tasks required to maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment
  • Support safe use of assistive devices (walkers, wheelchairs, lifts) - as needed
  • Monitor health, safety, and condition changes
  • Community Engagement & Appointment Support, Coordination, and (in approved situations) Transportation
  • Provide dementia / behavioral support (as needed)
  • Follow care plans and complete accurate documentation electronically
  • Assist with appointments, community engagement, transportation (as approved)
  • Supporting client independence, safety and confidentiality
  • Professional, caring, and compassionate behavior to clients, client families, and your peers / co-workers

Job-Specific & Success in Role
  • Applicants with STNA, CNA, and DSP (DODD) certifications + >1 year experience are highly desired
    • Certified New graduates are also encouraged to apply.
  • HHAs and PCAs with 2+ years caregiving experience
  • Minimum of 1 year paid in-home care or caregiving experience (agency experience desirable but not required)
  • Character traits: reliable, honest beyond reproach, professional, compassionate, detail-oriented (in care + documentation), accountable, friendly and accommodating, respectful
  • Ability to meet all of the basic job requirements including essential physical demands of pushing, pulling, rolling; and lifting/carrying up to 30-50 lbs. occasionally is a must. Main physical demands include:
    • Frequent standing, walking, stopping/bending, infrequent squatting/kneeling, and balancing
    • Weight handled: push, force required: 1-20 lbs. frequently, 20-30 lbs. occasionally, 30-50 lbs. infrequently, carry/lift:1-20 lbs. frequently, 20-30 lbs. occasionally, 30-50 lbs. infrequently.

General Employment
  • 18+ with valid license / state ID, US work authorization, and reliable transportation
  • Consent + Ability to Pass state & federal background check (incl. fingerprint appointment)
  • Complete HR requirements + 3-5 hrs online pre-hire orientation & training prior to start
  • Active CPR + FA certification (+ proof/documentation) is highly desired for speed-to-start care, but HCN will provide renewal/recertification if required.
  • Exceptional on-time and attendance record - and consistent availability aligned to your chosen schedule type (PT/FT/Hybrid).
  • Willingness and timely compliance to maintain all ongoing Training & Certification Requirements
