Job description

Structural Designer

Multiple openings for Structural Designers. Candidates must be able to work in office location 2x/week. Locations include: Portland, OR Phoenix, AZ and other large metro cities throughout the US. Join a team shaping the future of advanced technology manufacturing. Our client is seeking a Structural Designer to play a key role in developing conceptual and detailed 2D and 3D structural models for cutting-edge facilities, including semiconductor fabrication plants. This position is ideal for a detail-driven designer who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys translating engineering concepts into construction-ready documentation.

What You'll Do

  • Develop detailed 2D and 3D structural models from sketches, verbal direction, and engineering input
  • Produce complete structural plan sets, details, and documentation
  • Apply client and departmental standards consistently across all deliverables
  • Take ownership of assigned scope, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to schedule
  • Coordinate design efforts with other disciplines to maintain alignment and resolve issues
  • Support team members and contribute to a collaborative, solutions-oriented environment
  • Advance design automation skills and adopt emerging technologies
  • Review models and documents for quality, compliance, and data integrity
  • Lead small design teams, including:
    • Assigning tasks and balancing workloads
    • Monitoring progress and ensuring deadlines are met
    • Overseeing clash resolution and quality standards
    • Leading internal, cross-discipline, and external package reviews
  • Participate in project meetings and help resolve design challenges

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting or equivalent
  • 5+ years of structural drafting/design experience
  • 3+ years of Revit experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of structural drafting/design experience
  • 5+ years of Revit experience
  • Experience with SmartPlant and Tekla
  • Experience using Navisworks and Bluebeam
  • Background in designing steel and concrete structures
  • Experience with industrial or semiconductor-related facilities
