Plasma Equipment Technician - Day Shift 25011398

One of our leading semiconductor clients is looking for a skilled Equipment Technician to join their team. In this role, you will perform preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, equipment improvements, equipment upgrades, and equipment installation. You will interface and communicate with engineering and manufacturing groups across the fab to ensure all issues are solved appropriately and efficiently. This role is for the Plasma module within the Richardson TX FAB.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and installation of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Improve equipment performance to meet process requirements and eliminate repetitive equipment downtime.
  • Monitor and analyze equipment data to identify trends, improve reliability, and maintain tool performance.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and equipment-related issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate supplier and vendor service, maintenance, and repairs when required.
  • Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve equipment and production issues quickly and effectively.
  • Prepare technical reports documenting equipment issues, findings, root causes, and recommended solutions.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve equipment uptime, performance, and overall manufacturing efficiency.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must meet one of the following experience requirements:
    • At least 2 years of semiconductor technician experience, or
    • At least 8 years of non-semiconductor or military technician experience.
  • Ability to work a 12-hour compressed work schedule.
  • Flexibility to work either day or night shift, including weekend and holiday coverage as required.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous equipment technician experience in a semiconductor wafer fab.
  • Hands-on experience with Applied Materials (AMAT) or Axcelis ion implantation equipment is highly preferred.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment problems, determine root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Self-driven with the ability to identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and equipment teams.
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and drive issues through resolution.
  • Ability to perform effectively in an interrupt-driven, fast-paced semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships across technical and operational teams.
