A semi-retired Information Technology professional should possess a strong background in IT fundamentals, such as troubleshooting, system administration, and network management, often supported by prior certifications or degrees. Familiarity with common platforms like Windows, Linux, cloud services, and remote collaboration tools is typically expected for consulting or part-time roles. Essential Job Duties | Are you a technical problem-solver who enjoys bridging the gap between Human Resources and Information Technology? The Division of Campus Enterprises is seeking an HR/IT Integrations Specialist to serve as a pivotal link between our HR and IT offices. In this role, you won’t just manage data—you’ll build the ecosystem that moves it. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the integration solutions and automated workflows that power the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment to retirement. If you have a strong grasp of HR functional processes and the technical “know-how” to automate them using tools like Monday.com, Python, and PeopleSoft, we want to hear from you.
Primary responsibilities include:

Workflow Architecture & Monday.com Ownership:
  • Serve as the functional and technical owner of Monday.com for HR, transforming manual tasks into streamlined, automated boards.
  • Design and maintain automated workflows for hiring, onboarding, offboarding, and position management.
  • Build rule-based intake forms and approval routing to eliminate email-based requests and manual follow-ups.
  • Develop real-time dashboards for leadership to track hiring pipelines, time-to-fill metrics, and compliance outliers.

 Systems Integration & Data Management:
  • Develop and monitor data integrations between PeopleSoft HR, Campus Enterprises systems, and internal apps (Google Sheets, Power BI, Oracle, Azure).
  • Automate the extraction and transformation of HR data (headcount, FTE, salary, etc.) for financial and operational reporting.
  • Manage secure data transfer processes using Python, PowerShell, SFTP, or Azure Logic Apps.

 Application & Access Management:
  • Manage identity provisioning workflows (Active Directory, Google Workspace) to ensure seamless access for new hires and immediate de-provisioning for separations.
  • Troubleshoot SSO and login issues and act as the technical liaison for HR when evaluating new software or modules.
  • Collaborate with the Web Coordinator to ensure the HR intranet remains functional and accurate.

Security, Compliance, and Reporting:
  • Ensure all data handling complies with FERPA, HIPAA, and university data governance standards.
  • Build automated data pipelines for semi-monthly reconciliations to ensure data integrity between systems.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all schemas, interfaces, and automated workflows to ensure long-term scalability.

Systems Sustainment & Continuous Improvement:
  • Act as the primary guardian for all HR-IT integrations, ensuring they remain functional, secure, and aligned with changing organizational policies.
  • Monitor scheduled jobs and data pipelines for failures or anomalies; provide Tier-2 and Tier-3 support to resolve complex integration issues before they disrupt HR operations.
  • Update and refactor scripts and workflows in response to external changes, such as PeopleSoft updates, API modifications, or divisional restructuring.
  • Lead the transition from legacy processes to modern platforms, including the deprecation of outdated systems and the documentation of replacement strategies.
  • Reduce institutional risk by maintaining rigorous documentation and leading cross-training efforts to ensure knowledge transfer across the HR and IT teams.
  • Regularly participate in post-implementation reviews to evaluate labor savings and recommend enhancements that further reduce manual administrative workloads.
In this high-impact one-year appointment, you will serve as the Lead Architect of our digital HR infrastructure. This isn’t just a maintenance role; it is a unique opportunity to overhaul existing workflows, eliminate inefficiencies, and build a sustainable suite of automation solutions that will empower our HR team for years to come.
Other Responsibilities:
  • This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with customers, peers and supervisors and professionally communicate with multiple levels of employees within the University.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, including the ability to remain professional and respectful under pressure when dealing with difficult situations, to team and customers.
  • Model the division’s mission and values, introduce the division’s mission and values to the employees, and foster a positive, cohesive workplace and congeniality among co-workers.
  • Understand the goals and culture of the organization, and understand how employees’ work activities, teamwork, and customer service impact clients. Work with supervisor and colleagues to understand these goals and the workplace culture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the division’s business needs are met.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in an HRIS, IT, or Systems Integration role.

Other Required Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience with a major HRIS platform, preferably PeopleSoft HR.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain system integrations, including knowledge of API technology.
  • Experience with data integration and automation tools, such as: PowerShell, Python, or basic SQL scripting (minimum level 2 preferred) for file automation or ETL processes; Azure Logic Apps, Power Automate, or Make (Integromat) for workflow automation.
  • Strong understanding of database concepts and ability to query and join data across sources (PeopleSoft, Oracle, Google Sheets, etc.). Familiarity with Google Workspace administration, SharePoint, or Active Directory for managing users and permissions.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and communication skills to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical HR and business leaders.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Monday.com or Google Data Studio.
  • Experience managing data imports/exports (e.g., .CSV, .DAT, .XLSX), and maintaining automated file transfer processes via SFTP or APIs.
  • Comfort working in Windows and Linux environments and understanding scheduled or cron-based automations.
  • Experience working in a higher education or large enterprise environment.
