Role Summary
This role owns how FirstKey Homes is discovered across search, from traditional engines like Google to emerging AI-driven platforms. As the Senior Manager, Technical SEO & Search Strategy, you will lead the strategy and execution that drives organic visibility, improves search performance, and ensures our digital ecosystem is optimized for both human users and machine-driven discovery.
You will operate at the intersection of technical SEO, content, data, and product and feed, owning site architecture, CMS performance, content publishing workflows, and structured data systems. This role is highly technical and execution-focused, responsible for ensuring our website, property listings, and data feeds are accurate, scalable, and optimized to drive qualified traffic and leasing outcomes.
This is a high-impact role for an organic search leader who thrives on solving complex technical challenges, influencing cross-functional teams, and driving measurable growth through organic channels.
What You'll Do
• Own and lead technical SEO strategy by optimizing site architecture, crawlability, indexation, page performance, and structured data to improve organic visibility and site health
• Drive organic search growth by developing and executing strategies across traditional SEO and emerging AI-driven discovery platforms (AEO/GEO)
• Own CMS performance and content publishing workflows by ensuring pages, blog content, and property listings are properly structured, optimized, and deployed at scale
• Lead content optimization and publishing by partnering with marketing teams to improve on-page SEO, blog performance, internal linking, and search-driven content strategy
• Own data feed strategy and execution by managing listing feeds across platforms, resolving feed errors, and ensuring accurate delivery of key data points such as pricing, fees, HOA, trash, and other property attributes
• Identify and resolve technical issues by proactively auditing site health, diagnosing indexing or ranking issues, and partnering with engineering to implement fixes
• Optimize for search features and AI discovery by structuring content for rich results, featured snippets, voice search, and AI-generated answers across platforms
• Establish and monitor performance metrics by leveraging tools such as Google Search Console, analytics platforms, and SEO tools to track rankings, traffic, and conversion impact
• Partner cross-functionally with product, engineering, marketing, and operations teams to align SEO strategy with business goals and ensure seamless execution
• Stay ahead of search and AI trends by continuously evaluating algorithm updates, new technologies, and evolving user behavior to maintain a competitive edge
What You Bring (Required)
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
• 7+ years of experience in SEO with a strong focus on technical SEO and organic search strategy
• Proven expertise in technical SEO including site architecture, crawl/index management, structured data, schema markup, and site performance optimization
• Experience managing CMS platforms and content publishing workflows at scale
• Hands-on experience managing and troubleshooting data feeds, including resolving errors and ensuring data accuracy across platforms
• Strong understanding of how search engines and AI-driven platforms discover, interpret, and rank content
• Experience optimizing content for both traditional search engines and emerging AI-driven environments
• Proficiency with SEO and analytics tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Screaming Frog, SEMrush, or Ahrefs
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
• Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams and influence stakeholders
Nice to Have (Preferred)
• Experience in real estate, property management, or multi-location businesses
• Experience in regulated industries, such as healthcare, housing or financial services
• Familiarity with listing syndication platforms and marketplace ecosystems
• Experience with A/B testing, experimentation frameworks, or conversion optimization
• Exposure to AI/LLM-driven search environments and optimization strategies
• Experience working with large-scale, enterprise websites with complex data structures
Why This Role / Why Join Us
• Own a critical growth channel by driving organic visibility that directly impacts traffic, leads, and leasing performance
• Operate in a highly technical, high-impact role by solving complex challenges across SEO, data, content, and product
• Work at the forefront of search by shaping how the business adapts to AI-driven discovery and evolving search behavior
• Partner with cross-functional teams across marketing, product, and engineering to deliver scalable, long-term growth
If you're a technical SEO leader who wants to own strategy, solve complex problems, and drive measurable growth across both traditional and AI-driven search, this is an opportunity to build and scale a modern organic search engine at FirstKey Homes.
