Job description

Summary

All guards employed by Athens Services are responsible for the security of all property and materials within all company owned facilities. It is expected that every security employee will conduct his/her self in a professional manner at all the times and report those employees and visitors that do not. The primary duty of all the security personnel is to observe and report and at no time should a guard put his/her self in any type of physical danger or verbal confrontation.

Job Description

  • To ensure that the building/premise assigned to him/her is safe and secured from any sort of contingencies and acts of violence.

  • To keenly observe each and every person entering the premise and to keep an eye on intruders.

  • To prevent the entry of unauthorized people and prohibited articles into restricted areas.

  • To maintain a log book with details of the names, purpose of visit, and entry and exit times of each and every individual who enters the premise.

  • To conduct routine checks inside / outside the building each day.

  • To report all the suspicious acts happening in the premises to the local police / management staff.

  • To check each and every office and make sure that all the possible entrances and exits are closed, and all the lights / electric equipment are switched off.

  • To answer the emergency alarms with immediate effect, and to inform the respective department (such as fire department in case of fire) right away.

  • To make detailed notes of damages to the premise or assets or of unusual occurrences.

  • To enforce and adhere to all the rules and regulations, and to warn the violators regarding possible consequences.

  • To direct vehicles in and around the building and to make sure that all the vehicles are safe, while inside the premises.

  • In case of a load fire, to be able to operate the vehicle in order to dump the load into a clean/open area of the premise to help prevent further damage of property.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.

  • Valid Class C Driver's License.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Knowledge and ability to secure a premise.

  • Honest, dedicated, and sincere.

  • Polite and courteousness.

  • Ability to handle and resolve conflicts.

  • Ability to act quickly in emergency situations.

  • Ability to judge and detect possible threats and act accordingly.

  • Acceptable Driver Record.

  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual English / Spanish.

  • Security Experience.

Physical/Environmental Demands:

  • Physical:

    • Sitting, seeing, hearing, & smelling continuously.

    • Problem solving, oral/written communication, analytical ability, calculating, concentration, & interpersonal abilities continuously.

    • Eye/hand coordination, fingering (typing), handling, & wrist motion continuously.

    • Bending, reaching, stretching, standing, & walking occasionally.

  • Environmental:

    • Exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, & noise continuously.

    • Exposure to grease, oil, chemicals, & wet conditions occasionally.

    • Works inside only. Position considered office only.

Salary: $20.13 - $21.63 hourly

Schedule:Monday and Tuesday from 11:00 pm - 7:30 pm, Friday - Sunday from 3:30 pm - 12:00 am
