Retail Security Guard (Part-Time)
LOCATION:
Inland Center Mall - San Bernardino, CA
PAY:
$19.57/hour

OVERVIEW:
We are hiring a Retail Security Guard to help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for customers, employees, and vendors. This role requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and a customer-first mindset.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Security & Patrol
  • Patrol assigned areas or maintain a fixed post to monitor activity
  • Control access points and manage pedestrian/vehicle traffic
  • Identify and report suspicious activity, incidents, or safety concerns
  • Respond to alarms, emergencies, and on-site incidents

Monitoring & Reporting
  • Monitor CCTV cameras and security systems
  • Complete daily activity logs, incident reports, and required documentation
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings at all times

Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all post orders, company policies, and safety procedures
  • Maintain knowledge of emergency response protocols
  • Inspect property for safety risks (fire hazards, equipment issues, etc.)
  • Support loss prevention and recommend safety improvements

Customer Service
  • Greet and assist customers, employees, and visitors in a professional manner
  • Provide directions and support as needed
  • Maintain a visible, approachable presence on-site

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to stay alert and respond calmly in emergency situations
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions
  • Ability to write clear and accurate reports
  • Must present a professional appearance and demeanor
  • State Guard license is required

Preferred
  • Prior security or customer-facing experience
  • Familiarity with CCTV, alarms, or access control systems

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Minimum Requirements

  • Possess a valid state-issued Security Guard license/guard card (where applicable).
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Reliable transportation (personal vehicle preferred) and willingness to travel to multiple sites.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and on short notice.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Must have a working smartphone for scheduling, communication, and reporting purposes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
