What are some typical daily responsibilities of a Seismic Analyst?

As a Seismic Analyst, your daily responsibilities often include processing and interpreting seismic data, generating subsurface maps, and evaluating geological structures to support exploration or development decisions. You may also collaborate closely with geologists, geophysicists, and engineers to integrate data and provide actionable recommendations. Quality control of collected data, maintaining accurate documentation, and participating in project meetings are common tasks. This role is vital in helping companies assess subsurface risks and opportunities, making your analytical insights a key part of successful project outcomes.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Seismic Analyst position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Seismic Analyst, you need a strong background in geophysics, data interpretation, and quantitative analysis, typically supported by a degree in geology, geophysics, or a related field. Familiarity with industry-standard seismic software (such as Petrel or Kingdom), data processing tools, and certifications like SEG (Society of Exploration Geophysicists) membership are often required. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help Seismic Analysts excel when interpreting complex subsurface data and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. These competencies ensure the accurate analysis and interpretation of seismic data, underpinning successful exploration and resource management projects.

What is a Seismic Analyst job?

A Seismic Analyst interprets and processes seismic data to assess subsurface structures, typically for oil and gas exploration, earthquake monitoring, or geotechnical studies. They use specialized software and analytical techniques to identify patterns and anomalies in seismic waves. Their work helps geophysicists, engineers, and researchers make informed decisions about resource exploration and hazard assessment.

Job description

Senior Scientist 1/Senior Scientist 2- Translational Sciences

About Seismic

Seismic Therapeutic is making a major shift in how immunology therapies are discovered and developed, enabled by machine learning. We have brought together a stellar team of leading immunology drug developers, machine learning innovators and company builders who are charting new drug discovery territory to open better and faster ways to make medicines for patients with immune-driven diseases.

At our core, we are focused on phenomenal science, supportive culture, a superstar team, meritocracy, and patient-centric goals. Seismic has the tools, skills, ideas and people to make this a reality. Success will be the discovery and development of effective therapies for patients in need, and we invite you to become a part of that.

Role Summary

This is a terrific opportunity for a highly motivated senior scientist with expertise in translational immunology, focusing in autoimmunity, to join our translational sciences team.

In this role, you will design and execute translational strategies that inform biomarker development, and proof-of-concept for our immunology pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with external CROs and clinical sites to execute translational studies.
  • Oversee biomarker and bioanalytical assays (PK and ADA) development, transfer and implementation in clinical setting
  • Analyze and interpret complex immunological datasets from exploratory clinical samples (PBMC, tissue biopsies, serum/plasma), including flow cytometry, CyTOF, single-cell RNA-seq, cytokine profiling, and multiplex immunoassays.
  • Contribute to regulatory filings, clinical study reports, and scientific publications.
  • Serve as the scientific lead for immunology biomarker strategy on one or more programs, representing translational science in cross-functional teams.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and assay platforms relevant to our pipeline.

Required

  • Ph.D. Immunology or a closely related field.
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in translational research with autoimmunity in an industry setting
  • Fluent in bioanalytical assay development, including transferring of assays to CROs
  • Hands-on experience with immunological assays: flow cytometry/mass cytometry, ELISAs/MSD, multiplexed cytokine panels, and transcriptomic methods.
  • Experience with GCP/GLP environments and regulatory submissions (IND, BLA/NDA).
  • Experience with bioinformatics tools and analysis of high-dimensional datasets (scRNA-seq, CyTOF, proteomics).
  • Deep working knowledge of human immunology, including innate and adaptive immune pathways, T cell biology, B cell biology, or innate immune signaling.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and communicate complex biological data to cross-functional audiences.
  • Strong publication record or equivalent evidence of scientific contribution.

Competencies:

  • Scientific rigor with the ability to think critically and independently about complex translational questions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to distill complex science for diverse audiences.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with comfort operating in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

Annual Salary Range: $145,000 - $170,000 (depending on level)
