Job description

Epson, a $10B global leader in high-quality consumer electronics, imaging, and point of sale printing devices, is seeking an exceptional Product Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for contributing to strategic direction and providing input into product and market development strategy and marketing plan strategies for assigned product(s), leading the development, planning, positioning, and launching activities, through to end of product life, for unique or complex Epson product(s), and forecasting and procuring products to meet inventory and business plan and financial goals. This position will be based out of our Los Alamitos, CA office with the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.
Principal Accountabilities
In addition to the following Epson's policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
Strategy
  • Contribute to strategic direction and provides input into product and market development and marketing plan strategies
  • Develops new business development ideas and provides recommendations and business case proposal

Product Development
  • Provides input into the development of product road maps for assigned product(s)
  • Coordinates and more independently manages relationship with Seiko Epson Corporation to monitor product development process and makes recommendations for meeting market needs and negotiate tradeoffs
  • Conducts and analyzes market information and makes strategic recommendations and, in some cases, decisions (ie., pricing, positioning)

Product Management
  • Responsible for achieving revenue and gross profit and inventory targets for assigned products
  • Establishes and oversees structured processes for a complete product launch for assigned product(s)
  • Oversees relationships with Marketing Communications, Documentation, Service/Support, Logistics, Seiko Epson Corporation, Inventory Planning, and other groups to manage the product throughout its lifecycle
  • Makes and substantiates recommendations regarding positioning and pricing of assigned product(s)
  • Identifies opportunities and provides direction to Marcom and Advertising related to execution of key advertising and promotions tactics for assigned product(s)
  • Oversees end of product lifecycle and transition to minimize inventory and ensure launch time frames are met
  • Serves as internal and external PR spokesperson and product champion for assigned product(s)
  • Supports the company at events, including sales meetings and trade shows
  • Supports the sales team in customer visits and presentations
  • Oversees or conducts competitive analysis and benchmarking and makes recommendations and, in some cases, decisions
  • Initiates and maintains relationships with industry trade groups, analysts, and publications

Desired Skills and Experience
  • 10+ years of Product Management or related business experience in the MPS market
  • Strong market analysis, project management, marketing communications and strategic planning skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to use formulas, pivot tables, and data validation tools to analyze and ensure accuracy of product and market data
  • Demonstrated analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
  • Demonstrated proficiency in solving complex problems while balancing multiple objectives
  • Ability to sell ideas through cohesive and creative presentations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to persuade across organizational lines inside and outside the company

The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $137,419 and $180,360. Please note that this position's salary range may include multiple levels. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
