How much do seed collection jobs pay per hour?
What is a seed collection?
A Seed Collection job involves gathering seeds from plants in natural habitats for conservation, reforestation, or research purposes. Workers identify target species, collect seeds responsibly, and document collection data. This role may require travel, fieldwork, and knowledge of plant identification and ecology. Seed collectors often work for environmental organizations, government agencies, or botanical institutions. Proper handling and storage of seeds are essential to maintain their viability for future use.
What does a seed collection worker do?
A typical day in Seed Collection often involves traveling to specific field sites, identifying target plants, and carefully gathering mature seeds according to established guidelines. You may spend considerable time outdoors, sometimes in remote areas or varying weather conditions, and will document your findings using data sheets or digital devices. Collaboration with botanists, ecologists, or agricultural teams is common, especially when planning collection strategies or delivering collected materials. Your work may also include cleaning, sorting, and storing seeds to ensure their viability for future use. This role requires both independent fieldwork and teamwork, offering a dynamic work environment for those passionate about plant conservation and research.
What skills and qualifications are needed for seed collection?
To thrive in Seed Collection, you need knowledge of plant identification, basic botanical fieldwork, and physical fitness to handle outdoor environments. Familiarity with GPS devices, data recording tools, and sometimes certifications in botany or natural resources management are often beneficial. Attention to detail, patience, and strong observational skills help you excel in tracking seed sources and documenting findings accurately. These abilities ensure the integrity and success of conservation projects, ecological restoration efforts, and agricultural breeding programs that depend on high-quality seed sourcing.

About the Role:
We're looking for a high-ownership, high-performing Program Manager to own cross-functional programs across our internal tooling, IT and security systems, and vendor landscape. You will translate cross-functional requirements into clear project plans, you'll keep stakeholders updated through timely and clear status updates, and you'll ensure projects and programs deliver successfully and on-time with tight alignment across teams. Your work will directly support the efficiency and efficacy of the entire company as we rapidly scale. You're equally comfortable running a tight program review and building the automation that makes the next review run itself.
This is a high-ownership role with real surface area from day one. You'll report into the Internal Systems team and partner directly with every function at Stord.
What You'll Do:
- Run the programs that keep Stord's systems healthy. Own planning, execution, and reporting for cross-functional Internal Systems initiatives - from tooling rollouts to system migrations to process redesigns.
- Create structure & accountability across teams. Translate high-level integration goals into detailed project roadmaps, charters, RACIs, and workflows that create momentum across teams.
- Build automation first. Identify manual, repetitive internal work and replace it with automation, workflows, and AI agents. Treat "add a person" as the last resort, not the default.
- Keep the operating rhythm. Run the recurring reviews, dashboards, and status communications that give leadership a clear, current view of Internal Systems health.
- Support the compliance evidence process and cadence. Partner with Security and Finance to keep our SOC controls, evidence collection, and audit calendar continuously on track, so audit readiness is a steady state.
- Build the Internal Systems playbook. Bring structure and follow-through to the Internal Systems function, and help set the standards, playbooks, and documentation the team will run on.
- Manage Cross-Functional Execution: Partner with leaders across the business to align on priorities, remove roadblocks, and push execution forward.
- Ensure executive and stakeholder visibility. Maintain crisp project documentation and dashboards, and inform all stakeholders, including senior leadership, on progress and escalations.
What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years in program management or a closely related field - at a fast-growing technology company.
- A track record of running cross-functional programs end to end, with the organization and follow-through to keep many threads on schedule.
- Hands-on experience coordinating integrations across a modern software stack
- Experience managing vendors, contracts, and renewal cycles.
- An automation-first instinct - you've used scripts, no-code/low-code tools, or AI to eliminate manual work, and you're eager to do more of it.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complexity and communicate with clarity and precision.
- Obsessive attention to detail with a high bar for execution, follow-through, and the quality of your own work product.
