Uniformed Security Officers are responsible for protecting the site's building, grounds, assets, employees, students and visitors against criminal activity, accidents, fires and natural disasters, as well as providing outstanding customer service to our customers, clients, and visitors.

COMPENSATION:
  • Rate of Pay: $17.60/hour

LOCATION: Pontiac, MI
JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Must provide excellent customer service when dealing with Clients, Customers, Co-Workers, etc.
  • Guard posts - this may include building lobbies or reception areas.
  • Conduct hourly foot patrol of interior and exterior to check entrances, doors, windows and vents are locked and secure against break-ins (includes climbing stairs).
  • Monitor surroundings on closed-circuit television.
  • Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas.
  • Check for employee and vendor identifications.
  • Look for suspicious persons, packages and activities.
  • May provide first aid or other medical treatment in emergency situations.
  • May operate x-ray and/or metal detection equipment where the equipment is deployed.
  • Must follow site specific post guidelines.
  • Will report potentially hazardous conditions and items in need of repair including lighting, plumbing, wet floors, etc.
  • Document daily activities and incident reports
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years old and have at least a high school diploma or equivalent education certification, such as a GED, per MCL 338.1067 §17(2).
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana). Since our company contracts with the federal government, we must comply to federal laws regarding the use of marijuana, regardless of whether it is used recreationally or medicinally.
  • Must not have been convicted of any felonies, per MCL 338.1060 §10(1)(c).
  • Must not have been convicted of any misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including for marijuana), or two or more alcohol related offenses, per MCL 338.1060 §10(1)(c).
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk, including up and down stairs, for 8-12 hours at a time.
  • Must be able to see clearly at least 20 feet away (assisted with glasses or contact lenses if necessary).
  • Must be able to hear conversations in loud environments either in-person or via radio.
  • Must be able to use a smart mobile phone or computer to check emails and complete online training.
  • Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be professional and possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Must have excellent personal integrity and a positive attitude.
  • Must complete required trainings on time and adhere to all client and company policies.
