The Opportunity
A MassMutual Security Guard (SG) endeavors to provide a safe and secure environment for associates, contractors, and visitors, at our facilities. Greets and observes all people entering MM facilities and assists them as necessary to help ensure they have a great day. Monitors all facilities and reports and/or acts to correct any violation to company security policy. Learns and understands all Security Control Center (SOC) functions as delineated in the security operating manual and standard operating procedures. The SG will proactively investigate incidents of an unusual, suspicious, or threatening nature and will act to resolve these situations in collaboration with her/his supervisor or manager.

The Impact
  • Respond to emergency situations and serve as a resource to associates when problems arise.
  • Perform guard, patrol, and other duties which are essential for the protection of personnel, property and enforcement of company policies and regulations.
  • Perform duties such as issuing badges, controlling site security with the passage and receipt of daily logs, Keys, SOC operations, and related operational assignments.
  • Control the operation of the parking areas and assist in escorting visitors. and contracted employees as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
  • Abide by all confidentiality requirements

The Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license required
  • 1+ year experience in corporate security, military or law enforcement
  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Able to work the following schedule:
  • Saturday & Sunday 6:00 pm - 6:00 am ET
  • Monday & Tuesday 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm ET

The Ideal Qualifications
  • An associate degree in criminal justice or equivalent is preferred.
  • CPR, AED and/or First Responder Training
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • 1+ years of security or video management software experience
