Senior Electronic Security Systems Designer - Boston, MA (Hybrid Work Environment)

Our Technology Design Group works on mission critical projects supporting telecom, audio/visual and security systems. You will lead projects and coordinate Revit designers.   Expand your skillset and have a voice by working outside the box with the way we approach projects at Vanderweil.  Join us to do the best work of your career as a Senior Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Designer on our growing team at our headquarters in Boston, MA. (Seaport District - Hybrid role)

Some of your responsibilities include the following:

  • Define and develop requirements based on customer input and need, research equipment, and create basis of design documents, construction drawings, and specifications.
  • Project managerto coordinatewith architects and construction staff to lead the securityportionof construction planning.
  • Oversee the final system testing and turnover and ensure the proper system and operations documentation is furnished to the client.


Essential Skills & Requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience in designing, budgeting, programming, and engineering of traditional and IP based security systems, including access control, intrusion detection and closed-circuit TV
  • Project management ability including the managing of multiple large projects and personnel
  • Revit or AutoCAD is a plus
  • Technology infrastructure and audio-visual competence, consulting and design is a plus

The total compensation that we expect to pay for this position is dependent on years of experience, licensure, education, geographic location, and project portfolio but expected to be in the $100,000 to $150,000 range.
