Responsibilities:

  • Respond to service calls and diagnose issues with fire alarm and life safety systems
  • Perform troubleshooting, repair, programming, and system testing
  • Service and maintain systems from multiple manufacturers (including SimplexGrinnell)
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Communicate professionally with customers to identify issues and provide solutions
  • Complete service documentation using mobile devices and customer systems
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours service needs as required
  • Maintain inventory and ensure readiness of tools and equipment
  • Identify system improvements and recommend upgrades or solutions (upselling opportunities)
  • Support, mentor, and collaborate with team members when needed


Required Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience in:
  • Fire alarm and life safety systems
  • Low voltage systems (access control, intrusion, or related)
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical diagnostic skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications
  • Working knowledge of test equipment (multimeter, analyzers, etc.)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to perform physical tasks (lifting 50-70 lbs, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces)
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call rotation
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and company guidelines


Preferred Qualifications

  • NICET Level II certification (or actively pursuing)
  • Technical training or certification in electronics or fire systems
  • Experience with CCTV, IP networks, and integrated security systems
  • Prior experience with system programming and commissioning

Salary Range:
$26.00 - $34.00 per hour (based on experience, skills, and qualifications)
