Job description

At Amazon Web Services (AWS), Security is our highest priority. The AWS Compliance & Security Assurance team is responsible for diving deep into industry requirements, maintaining regulatory and security requirements, and establish strategies to meet current and upcoming customer and regulatory security needs. At AWS' scale, we hire experienced builders to design and operate scalable mechanisms to provide the highest level of assurance to our most regulatory conscious customers.
We are looking for an experienced Program Manager who will own the end-to-end scope, management, and delivery of scalable programs supporting the Risk and Compliance Remediation team

Operating in a fast-moving environment, your goal will be to improve efficiency to delight customers. You will interact with both technology and business leaders across the organization at all levels. The successful candidate has a solid program management background, experience with industry standards, and a track record of applying project management best practices to drive operational efficiency and program delivery excellence.

This role will manage multiple workstreams while ensuring seamless execution of established processes and programs.
Key job responsibilities
Define projects and features, collect requirements from stakeholders, and communicate results throughout the organization.
Drive the delivery of critical business initiatives and manage all aspects of multiple workstreams (e.g., planning, requirements, and communications).
Support the triage, review, tracking, and remediation of open issues within multiple ticketing queue systems, ensuring timely updates and appropriate routing to subject matter experts.
Balance and prioritize daily tasks across multiple programs, within the agreed-upon service level agreements and expected completion dates.
Evaluate existing programs to create new solutions, lower costs, enhance efficiency, improve the reliability of monitoring compliance-related information, and drive scalable solutions.
Identify opportunities for automated solutions and process improvements within the AWS service environment, driving implementation of improvements that enhance cross-team operational excellence.
Lead sprint planning, execution, and retrospectives across multiple teams.
Track and optimize resource utilization and sprint point allocation.
Develop and maintain project roadmaps, release schedules, and comprehensive project documentation including schedules, status reports, and meeting notes to ensure transparency and alignment.
Establish, define, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics for program health; work to define them where they do not exist.
Build and manage PMO project schedules/plans and metrics to support project delivery.
Facilitate effective communication among team members, stakeholders, and leadership, ensuring the right people are informed at the right time.
Manage cross-functional teams and coordinate efforts to ensure seamless program execution and that dependencies are managed effectively.
Identify and mitigate risks early, resolve blockers, and escalate issues appropriately to maintain program momentum.
Develop and maintain comprehensive metrics dashboards to track program health and support program-level reporting.
Own weekly and monthly business reviews and delivery to leadership, providing detailed project status updates and answering questions in depth.
Support intake queues for remediation work, gathering initial requirements, coordinating handoffs, and managing resource allocation.
Apply project management best practices to improve team and cross-team efficiency, optimizing processes that improve efficacy and delivery.
