Job description

Job Summary:
Sierra Nevada Corporation is a global leader in aerospace and national security, offering fellowship opportunities through its Military Fellowship Program. As a Project Manager, you will manage projects from design to release, develop project plans, and interface with stakeholders while gaining valuable experience in the civilian workforce.
Responsibilities:
• Managing a project from design to release for customers
• Monitoring the project from initiation through delivery and program closeout
• Developing, defining, and executing project plans, schedules, budgets and deliverables
• Identifying needed resources for projects
• Interfacing with internal and external customers or field-based employees on technical matters as needed
• Tracking progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, or other performance indicators
• Preparing reports to stakeholders
• Managing simple projects typically defined as: studies, small task orders, Internal Research and Development, Level of Effort; services only, spares or projects with minimal deliverables
• Being responsible for all aspects of the project lifecycle: proposal development, planning, scope, definition, design, execution, delivery, and program closeout
Qualifications:
Required:
• Currently serving as active duty military and be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in project management and/or in a related or technical field, internships not included in total years of experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
• Demonstrated experience in managing a project.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical skills & capability to meet schedules
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
• Basic understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), or similar tool
• Experience with developing budgets and managing projects to those budgets.
• Experience managing project scope and scope creep during project execution
• Experience in resource planning and management during project execution
• Experience with risk management planning and documentation
• Familiarity with government contracting and regulations
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
