About this role

Are you ready to elevate your career to the next level? We are recruiting for a Project Manager/Estimator with Subject Matter Expert (SME) level knowledge of security technology systems to join our Security & Healthcare Technology team, based Remotely in Alberta, ideally Calgary or Edmonton.

You will lead all aspects of the project, test technologies, troubleshoot, and perform system upgrades for Houle's Security Projects and Service work. Supported technologies include access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, nurse call, RTLS, and related system integrations.

Be part of a team that designs and delivers complex security systems for critical infrastructure-including police stations, hospitals, and hydroelectric dams-that help keep our communities safe.

We're looking for professionals with strong project management and leadership experience in construction or electrical technologies who are ready to make a meaningful impact. In this role, you'll contribute to major security projects across Alberta while working in a progressive, high-performing environment that values collaboration, continuous learning, and personal growth.

This position requires up to approximately 25% travel across Alberta, as needed, to perform system upgrades, migrations, repairs, and troubleshooting for existing clients

Here's how your role will strengthen our team.

Your responsibilities

  • Maintain good relationship with suppliers, consultants, general contractors and end users
  • Manage all areas of the project including, contract management, financials, schedules, labour requirements, materials, deficiencies, etc.
  • Estimate project costs, changes, and submit tenders
  • Complete required paperwork for billing, and ensure payment is received
  • Review reports and provide analytics to project team
  • Arrange for project manuals to be completed
  • Ensure that as-built drawings are completed and sent to the owner
  • Report to the Operations Manager and work closely with the field team and with the assigned office support (coordinators, designers, technicians, and accounting) to achieve project performance, budget and schedule targets
  • Create and update drawing packages, configuration and tracking spreadsheets and other design documents
  • Liaise with manufacturer reps and suppliers, source and assemble manufacturer's manuals, instructions data sheets and reference for design
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders (internal & external) to help meet the needs of the projects
  • Perform system upgrades, migrations, repair and troubleshooting for existing clients across Alberta.

Your experience and skills

  • 3+ years of project management and estimating experience in related construction/electrical technologies field
  • Solid knowledge of Healthcare and Security Systems including nurse call (Ascom certification, an asset), RTLS, access control, CCTV and intrusion detection
  • In-depth technical understanding of security system protocols, networking, databases, and best practices
  • Demonstrated experience performing system upgrades, migrations, repairs and troubleshooting 
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills; and able to interact with project stakeholders, project manager/estimators, field team, and office support team
  • Trades qualification and/or electrical TQ, an asset
  • Good computer skills. Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of Procore and Accubid, an asset
  • Strong organization and time management skills
