Job description

Job Title: Security Manager
Reports To: General Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Department: Operations
Location: Arkansas
POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary duty of the Security Manager is to oversee, implement, and maintain robust security protocols for various aviation MRO programs. This position is directly responsible for ensuring strict compliance with Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and National Industrial Security Program (NISP) regulations. This position will combine technical knowledge with practical, hands-on leadership to ensure compliance across multiple active aviation hangars.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  1. Responsible for the supervision of the functions and operations of the Security department and personnel.
  2. Serves as the Facility Security Officer (FSO) and manages the day-to-day operations of classified programs and protocols.
  3. Responsible for the overall security of all facilities, including controlled entry points, security policies and protocols, visitor protocols, and employee access permissions.
  4. Lead the strategy, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's Insider Threat Program, establishing cross-functional protocols, risk assessments, and monitoring frameworks to safeguard sensitive assets and data.
  5. Lead preparation efforts for all security audits, inspections, and vulnerability assessments.
  6. Serve as the facility's point of contact for ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) compliance; establish and enforce strict physical security perimeters, visitor controls, and data protection protocols to prevent the unauthorized export of defense articles or technical data to foreign nationals.
  7. Develop a badge or identification process to ensure only those with appropriate access have access to classified areas. Make recommendations on improving processes and access issues.
  8. Develop, implement, and update the Facility Security Clearance (FCL) documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Technology Control Plans (TCPs).
  9. Manage and maintain open storage areas, secure rooms, and any closed areas or Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) in accordance with government specifications.
  10. Serve as primary contact with outside vendors for clearance requests and proper vetting. Oversee visit requests and approve badge requests.
  11. Oversee and facilitate personnel security clearances, to include assistance in completing and processing SF86 forms for clearance requests.
  12. Manage the investigation, onboarding, and continuous evaluation of cleared personnel via Defense Information System for Security (DISS).
  13. Partner with MRO production and maintenance teams to ensure classified aircraft, components, and technical data are physically segregated and always protected.
  14. Establish and enforce strict Operations Security (OPSEC) and Communications Security (COMSEC) protocols tailored to the unique flow of an aviation maintenance floor.
  15. Design and deliver comprehensive security awareness, training events, and education programs for all staff, to include briefings on insider threats and foreign adversaries.
  16. Performs other duties and responsibilities based on experience and business needs of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Required: 5 years of management experience in the field of U.S. government security operations and procedures.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in associated field.
  • Knowledge of relevant state, federal and/or international compliance laws and regulations (e.g., International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements)
  • Secret clearance, or the ability to be approved for a clearance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is not a remote position. You are required to be present at the Arkansas office during normal work hours, which are 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, explosives, and risk of radiation.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Ability to apply and define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Word processing, spreadsheets, internet software, e-mail, database software, inventory software and order processing software.
