Job description

At Amazon Healthcare Security (HealthSec), we are on a mission to make healthcare secure and easy. We are developing a patient centric healthcare experience that is personal, transparent, and convenient. We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to drive complex, cross organizational programs across our health portfolio.
As a Senior TPM, you are part of a global organization of security engineers, software developers, and technical program managers dedicated to continuously raising the security bar

We operate with an AI First mindset, leveraging generative AI and machine learning to scale security decisions, automate defenses, and move faster than emerging threats. You will own ambiguous, multi team initiatives end to end: defining program strategy, aligning engineering, science, legal, and product partners, and delivering measurable outcomes. You will operate at the intersection of security engineering, AI/ML, and healthcare regulation, translating fuzzy problems into crisp plans and shipping them.
Key job responsibilities
Own the lifecycle and strategy of large, complex, cross functional security programs across multiple engineering teams, from problem definition through launch and operational readiness.
Drive technical decisions and tradeoffs with engineering and applied science leaders, diving deep into architecture, threat models, and data handling design.
Build and manage program roadmaps, dependencies, and risk registers, proactively removing blockers.
Partner with Legal, Privacy, and Compliance to meet regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and related health data standards.
Champion an AI First approach, applying generative AI and automation to scale threat detection and accelerate reviews, while managing the risks AI systems introduce.
Author crisp narratives, including mechanism docs, program plans, and MBR and QBR content, for senior leadership.
Report on program metrics, tie outcomes to organization goals, contribute to OP1 and OP2 narratives, and define operational health for Tier 1 support.
Influence without authority across a VP organization, aligning senior managers, directors, and system owners with competing priorities.
Force multiply across teams, removing systemic blockers and driving simplification in engineering processes and architectures.
Eliminate excess process, creating predictable mechanisms and paths to green that raise the delivery bar.
Mentor and develop other program managers, and contribute to hiring and technical promotion assessments.
About the team
The Amazon Healthcare Security (HealthSec) team safeguards the data, devices, and systems at the core of Amazon's healthcare business

We own the security of highly sensitive protected health information (PHI) and the trust patients and customers place in us. We are an AI First team: we embed security and privacy by design, partner with builders early to prevent issues before they ship, and apply generative AI and automation to scale threat detection and stay ahead of a fast evolving threat landscape. We hold ourselves to a bar exceeding strict regulatory requirements, and measure success by risk reduced for patients.
Diverse Experiences
Amazon Security values diverse experiences

Even if you do not meet all of the qualifications and skills listed in the job description, we encourage candidates to apply. If your career is just starting, hasn't followed a traditional path, or includes alternative experiences, don't let it stop you from applying.
Why Amazon Security?
At Amazon, security is central to maintaining customer trust and delivering delightful customer experiences. Our organization is responsible for creating and maintaining a high bar for security across all of Amazon's products and services

We offer talented security professionals the chance to accelerate their careers with opportunities to build experience in a wide variety of areas including cloud, devices, retail, entertainment, healthcare, operations, and physical stores.
Inclusive Team Culture
In Amazon Security, it's in our nature to learn and be curious. Ongoing DEI events and learning experiences inspire us to continue learning and to embrace our uniqueness. Addressing the toughest security challenges requires that we seek out and celebrate a diversity of ideas, perspectives, and voices.
Training & Career Growth
We're continuously raising our performance bar as we strive to become Earth's Best Employer

That's why you'll find endless knowledge-sharing, training, and other career-advancing resources here to help you develop into a better-rounded professional.
Work/Life Balance
We value work-life harmony. Achieving success at work should never come at the expense of sacrifices at home, which is why flexible work hours and arrangements are part of our culture. When we feel supported in the workplace and at home, there's nothing we can't achieve.
