We are looking for a Security Manager / Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to join Darley!


The Security Manager / Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) supports the Director of Supply Chain Security and the Facility Security Officer in managing day-to-day security operations. This role ensures compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and assists with broader regulatory requirements, including Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and U.S. Export Control regulations (ITAR/EAR).


This position oversees personnel, physical, and program security activities, serves as a primary interface with government security officials, and helps embed security and compliance requirements across the organization. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in industrial security, strong operational discipline, and the flexibility to support evolving regulatory obligations.

Requirements

Industrial & Classified Security (NISPOM)

  • Support the FSO in administering the National Industrial Security Program in compliance with 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM).
  • Manage personnel security activities including clearance processing, reinvestigations, visit requests, and recordkeeping using systems such as DISS/NBIS.
  • Conduct initial, annual, refresher, and termination security briefings for cleared personnel.
  • Maintain DD Form 254s and ensure alignment with customer-specific security requirements.
  • Perform self-inspections, prepare for DCSA reviews, and track corrective actions.
  • Investigate, report, and remediate security incidents and potential compromises.

Insider Threat & Security Training

  • Co-administer the Insider Threat Program, including assessments, reporting, training, and working group coordination.
  • Deliver security awareness, insider threat, foreign travel, and counterintelligence training.
  • Maintain accurate training and compliance documentation.

Physical Security & Secure Areas

  • Oversee physical security controls for classified and controlled spaces, including access control, visitor management, alarms, and CCTV.
  • Support the accreditation and maintenance of closed areas or other controlled environments.
  • Coordinate with IT, facilities, and emergency responders on security controls and incident response.

CUI & Export Control Support

  • Provide operational support for compliance with Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) requirements.
  • Assist with ITAR and EAR compliance efforts, including access controls, training, and documentation.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, IT, HR, and Supply Chain teams to integrate regulatory requirements into daily operations.

Government & Cross-Functional Engagement

  • Serve as a liaison with DCSA, customer program security officers (CPSOs), and other government representatives.
  • Advise internal teams on security requirements for classified or sensitive programs.
  • Support emergency planning, drills, and continuity activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities
  • Active Secret security clearance (required).
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial security, classified program support, or a related defense/government security role.
  • Working knowledge of NISPOM, personnel security processes, incident reporting, and physical security requirements.
  • Experience interacting with government security officials and supporting audits or inspections.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as an FSO, AFSO, CPSO, or equivalent role.
  • Familiarity with CUI requirements and Export Control regulations (ITAR/EAR).
  • Experience with DISS/NBIS, NISS, or similar security systems.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ISP, SFPC/SPIPC, ASIS CPP/PSP).
  • Prior military or defense-industry experience.
