Overview:

The Senior Manager, Enterprise Physical Security & Asset Protection is responsible for managing and executing the company's physical security and asset protection programs across more than 400 locations. This role leads day-to-day physical security operations, access control, badging, investigations, security technology, and asset protection initiatives while supporting enterprise security objectives.

The Senior Manager partners with Information Technology, Operations, Facilities, Human Resources, Risk Management, Legal, and Executive Leadership to implement security programs, assess risk, and recommend improvements that help protect employees, facilities, physical assets, and business operations. This role is responsible for executing approved security strategies and ensuring consistent implementation of security standards across the enterprise.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Enterprise Security Leadership

  • Execute enterprise physical security programs across more than 400 company locations.

  • Implement corporate security policies, standards, and procedures while ensuring consistent compliance.

  • Lead enterprise physical security initiatives and operational improvements.

  • Provide recommendations to senior leadership regarding physical security risks and mitigation opportunities.

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to support enterprise security objectives.

Physical Security Operations

  • Manage day-to-day physical security operations to ensure the safety of employees, visitors, facilities, and company assets.

  • Coordinate enterprise security risk assessments and support remediation efforts.

  • Implement security measures to address identified risks and safeguard organizational assets.

Access Control, Badging & Identity Management

  • Manage enterprise access control systems, visitor management platforms, and physical identity and access management programs.

  • Oversee employee, contractor, vendor, and visitor badging processes and access authorization standards.

  • Ensure timely provisioning, modification, and removal of physical access privileges.

  • Conduct periodic reviews of physical access rights and facility security controls.

Security Technology & Surveillance

  • Manage the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, visitor management, and security monitoring technologies.

  • Recommend security technology enhancements that improve operational effectiveness and reduce risk.

Asset Protection

  • Manage asset protection programs designed to safeguard facilities, inventory, equipment, and technology assets.

  • Partner with IT to support physical protection of critical technology environments.

  • Lead investigations involving theft, vandalism, unauthorized access, and property loss.

Incident Response & Investigations

  • Lead security-related investigations and coordinate with law enforcement and emergency responders.

  • Maintain and support emergency response and business continuity procedures.

  • Ensure appropriate reporting, documentation, and follow-up for security incidents.

Compliance & Vendor Management

  • Support security audits, assessments, and remediation activities.

  • Manage approved operating budgets, vendor relationships, and contract security services.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of enterprise physical security principles, methodologies, and best practices.

  • Strong understanding of access control systems, surveillance technologies, alarms, badging systems, and visitor management platforms.

  • Knowledge of physical asset protection, loss prevention, investigations, and incident management.

  • Understanding of physical security requirements for technology infrastructure, data centers, and critical business systems.

  • Strong risk assessment, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute enterprise-wide security strategies.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.

  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.

  • Strong project management, budget management, and vendor management capabilities.

  • Ability to respond effectively during emergencies and high-pressure situations.

  • Proficiency with security technologies, security reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.

Working Environment/Safety Requirements:

  • Work is performed in a combination of corporate office, field, and operational environments.

  • Frequent interaction with employees, contractors, vendors, customers, and external agencies.

  • Periodic travel to company locations, including overnight travel, as required.

  • Availability to respond to emergencies, critical incidents, and after-hours security events on a 24x7 basis as needed.

  • Must be able to conduct facility inspections and security assessments in office, industrial, warehouse, retail, healthcare, or operational environments.

  • Adherence to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • May be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting operational locations.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, Risk Management, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in physical security, asset protection, law enforcement, military security, or related disciplines.

  • 3-5 years of leadership experience managing enterprise-wide security operations across multiple geographically dispersed locations.

  • Experience supporting large-scale organizations with hundreds of facilities and diverse operational environments.

  • Demonstrated experience with access control, badging, CCTV, investigations, emergency management, and security technology platforms.

  • Experience developing security standards, conducting risk assessments, and implementing enterprise security programs.

  • Strong understanding of the intersection between physical security, technology security, and business risk management.

  • Experience managing security budgets, vendor relationships, and contract security services.

License Requirements/Certifications:

Required Certifications

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP) - or ability to complete within first year

  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to company locations as required.

Preferred Certifications

  • Physical Security Professional (PSP)

  • Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM)

  • Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)

  • Certified in Risk and Information Security Controls (CRISC)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting manufacturing, logistics, or other large multi-site enterprises.

  • Experience overseeing security programs for critical infrastructure, technology facilities, data centers, and enterprise IT environments.

  • Experience integrating physical security, cybersecurity, and enterprise risk management programs.

  • Experience leading security operations across geographically dispersed locations supporting large employee populations and critical business operations.
