Summary:
The Security Manager is a key position of the Venue Leadership Team at Cosm. They are responsible for overseeing the Security team to ensure that Cosm's culture, safety and established Pillars of Service are upheld throughout the venue, from the customer's ("Fan's") experience to all team members (Cosmnaut's) experience. They ensure Fan satisfaction by guarding, patrolling, and monitoring the premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules within a Category Defining, Shared Reality Venue.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management
  • Lead daily through Cosm's Pillars of Service: Connected, Optimistic, Service-Oriented, and Memorable.
  • Interview, select, train, and develop an exceptional Security team to deliver a best-in-class Fan experience.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, recognition, and corrective action to reinforce performance standards and address issues promptly.
  • Organize and conduct team meetings, communicate expectations, operational updates, and service standards.
  • Regularly review department practices and implement updated procedures as needed to increase efficiency and quality.

Operational & Event Management
  • Create and manage weekly team schedules, adjusting for business needs, event loads, and staffing coverage.
  • Coordinate team deployment during daily operations and event-based activities to ensure adequate coverage and responsiveness.
  • Participate in pre-shift briefings, BEO meetings, operations syncs, and closing reviews.
  • Ensure safe execution of daily operations, event transitions, and venue opening/closing procedures.
  • Coordinate multi-program transitions across events and activations within the venue.

Security & Safety Oversight
  • Monitor and authorize entry and exit of Fans and team members
  • Maintain safety, order, and situational awareness through active presence throughout the venue.
  • Investigate and resolve security incidents, complaints, and policy violations in a timely, professional manner.
  • Develop and implement security and operational strategies that enhance both safety and Fan experience.
  • Ensure all security operations comply with Cosm policies as well as local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Partner with Venue Leadership, Development Security, and local law enforcement to align venue-wide safety standards.

Fan & Team Member Experience
  • Respond to Fan inquiries and feedback while balancing an atmosphere of hospitality and safety.
  • Support seamless Fan flow through proactive engagement, problem-solving, and visible presence.
  • Reinforce a culture of performance and positive behavior using Cosm's Recognition Program.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with venue departments to support integrated operations and communication.

Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years' management experience in Law Enforcement or Security.
  • Valid Guard Card
  • CPR / First Aid / AED certification (or able to obtain within 60 days)
  • Working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business environment, and enforcement procedures.
  • Strong strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Acute sense of judgment, tact, and diplomacy, with the ability to respond in a CosmWorthy manner in any situation.
  • Position requires constant walking, climbing stairs, lifting, and carrying 50 lbs.+ and occasional sitting.
  • Must have flexibility to work on nights, weekends, or holidays as business needs dictate.
