Mid-Level Industrial Security Specialist

The Boeing Company is looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Mid-Level Industrial Security Specialist to join the team in Huntsville, AL.
The Security Specialist supports the PAC-3 program by conducting a broad range of security functions to ensure compliance with government and company regulations, requirements, and internal procedures. This role performs internal security controls, administrative inquiries, personnel security processes, physical security activities, subcontractor management support, and security awareness training. The position helps protect government, intellectual property, third-party, and company information from unauthorized disclosure through effective implementation of security programs, controls, and education. The Security Specialist also assists with less experienced personnel and participates in program and enterprise team efforts as needed.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assigned internal security controls through compliance assessment reviews and self-inspections
  • Identify security deficiencies and recommend corrective actions to improve compliance and program effectiveness
  • Assist less experienced personnel with internal security controls activities
  • Conduct administrative inquiries involving personnel, processes, and situations in accordance with established operating procedures to determine the level and scope of non-compliance with government and company regulations/requirements
  • Support and mentor less experienced personnel in administrative inquiry activities
  • Protect government, intellectual property, third-party, and company information from unauthorized disclosure
  • Develop, implement, and administer an Operational Security (OPSEC) program, including security education, procedures, and physical controls for less complex programs
  • Lead and perform Personnel Security processes, including database maintenance, file reviews, interviews, customer submittals, and scheduling briefings to support security clearance and access requirements
  • Conduct security awareness training and education through briefings, bulletins, and visual reminders to promote protection of people, property, and information
  • Perform Physical Security duties within Boeing facilities, including facility checklist completion, survey support, and review/approval of facility drawings for new or remodeled classified areas
  • Support Sub-Contractor Management activities by providing contractual requirements, direction, site assistance visits, and compliance reviews
  • Participate in PAC-3 program support activities, including coordination with program leadership, operations, and security stakeholders to ensure effective security execution in support of program objectives
  • Participate in enterprise Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and related subteams or task teams as requested
  • Assist less experienced personnel across security functions as needed

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 3+ years of experience in Industrial Security
  • 1+ years of experience with Industrial Security, Facilities Security, Personnel Security, and/or Intelligence in a cleared environment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain access to a Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and/or Special Access Programs (SAP) access

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 3+ years of experience with security-related work in one or a combination of the following domains: NISP, SAP, and/or SCI
  • 1+ years of experience with building relationships and partnering with all levels of employees, including executives in the Defense or Aerospace environment
  • 1+ years of experience communicating and building positive relationships with internal and external customers
  • Experience preparing reports, briefs, findings, and corrective action recommendations
  • Experience with LLM (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, OpenAI, Grok, or similar)
  • Experience with government and company security regulations, policies, and compliance requirements
  • Experience conducting reviews, inspections, inquiries, and briefings with accuracy and sound judgment
  • Experience with analytical skills to identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions
  • Experience with organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple security disciplines
  • Ability to interact professionally with internal stakeholders, customers, subcontractors, and government representatives
  • Ability to support a fast-paced program environment with changing priorities and customer needs
