Job description

Position Summary:

As a Security Officer at Nemacolin's luxury resort, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of our guests, staff, and property. You will maintain a visible presence throughout the resort, respond to incidents, and uphold the highest standards of guest service and professionalism in line with our brand values. 

Essential Functions:

  • Guest and Staff Safety:
    Ensure the safety and security of all guests, associates, and resort assets through proactive patrols and surveillance.
  • Patrol and Surveillance:
    Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols of the resort premises, including guest areas, back-of-house, and perimeter zones.
  • Incident Response:
    Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies, alarms, disturbances, and other security-related incidents. Provide first aid or CPR if certified and necessary.
  • Access Control:
    Monitor and control access to restricted areas. Verify identification and credentials of visitors, contractors, and staff as required.
  • Report Writing:
    Accurately document incidents, observations, and activities in detailed reports. Maintain logs and records in accordance with resort policies.
  • Customer Service:
    Provide exceptional guest service by assisting with directions, lost and found, and general inquiries while maintaining a calm and courteous demeanor.
  • Surveillance Monitoring:
    Operate and monitor CCTV systems and other security technology to detect and respond to suspicious activity.
  • Policy Enforcement:
    Enforce resort policies and procedures, including fire safety, emergency evacuation, and health and safety regulations.
  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with other departments (e.g., Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering) to ensure a seamless and secure guest experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional security or hospitality training is a plus.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in security, preferably in a luxury hospitality or resort environment.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
  • Physically fit and able to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
  • Must complete and pass a hospitality security officer certification program within 60 days. Provided by Nemacolin Resort
  • Must pass a physical fitness evaluation prior to starting employment (standards are available upon request).
  • PA Act 235 armed agent certification is strongly preferred.
