JOB TITLE: SECURITY MONITOR ( Flex Hours)
JOB SUMMARY: Supervises and maintains student control in the school parking lots, hallways, locker areas and restroom facilities of the building to ensure that student behavior is appropriate and that the facility is being used for which it is intended. Is directly responsible to the principal and assistant principals.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (May include but not be limited to):
  • Maintain order at school activities and assemblies.
  • Report to Administrators any rule violations occurring in the parking lot, on school property, or within the school buildings.
  • Prepare and maintain required written records.
  • Keep students or other young people who are not enrolled in our school from loitering in the parking lot facilities at all ends of the school.
  • Patrol the outside property, grounds, restroom, and hallways in an effort to discourage students from violating rules and regulations contained within the Student Code of Conduct during, before, and after school hours.
  • Refer disciplinary problems to the Administrator's offices as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the school administration.

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-high school work preferred.
  • Previous security, police and/or military experience preferred
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and apply conflict resolution techniques.
  • Possess maturity and have the ability to deal with young people in an authoritative manner and respond to pressure with respect.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule; ability to work cooperatively; demonstrate initiative.
  • Must have successful work experience with the public; work with middle school and high school age students preferred.
  • Possess the physical strength to restrain individuals when necessary.
  • Successfully complete a physical exam that demonstrates physical capabilities to perform all duties.
  • Physically able to be on one's feet and walk for at least 4 hours consecutively.
  • Physically able to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Good prior attendance and work record.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with eligibility for a chauffeur's license.
