Job description

City Security Services is seeking qualified Transit Security Officers to help maintain safety and security across various transport-based facilities.
This position requires a professional, observant, and dependable security officer who can perform routine patrols while remaining prepared for emergencies and unexpected security events.
Pay: $22/hr
Location: Houston, TX 77054
Schedule: Full-Time, Overnight, 40 hours/week

  • Saturday: 10:00pm-6:00am
  • Sunday: 10:00pm-6:00am
  • Monday: 10:00pm-6:00am
  • Tuesday: 10:00pm-6:00am
  • Wednesday: 10:00pm-6:00am

Position Responsibilities
  • Maintain security coverage at assigned METRO locations.
  • Perform stationary and mobile patrols.
  • Monitor visitors, employees, patrons, and other occupants.
  • Conduct security, fire, and safety inspections.
  • Respond to alarms and emergency situations.
  • Assist individuals experiencing illness or injury.
  • Provide basic first aid within the scope of training.
  • Notify supervisors and emergency responders as needed.
  • Report hazards, spills, equipment problems, and other facility concerns.
  • Process authorized visitors.
  • Monitor and address unauthorized access within established legal authority.
  • Complete accurate incident reports.
  • Follow General Orders, Post Orders, and facility emergency plans.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Security Manager.

Required Qualifications
Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and possess an active Level 3 certification with guard license in hand, including current baton and OC certifications.
Candidates must also have:
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Clean driving record for the previous three years.
  • Basic technical/computer skills.
  • Ability to pass the required Physical Readiness Test.
  • Ability to successfully complete the required 24-hour training.

Candidates must meet one of the following:
  • Bachelor's degree and demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities relevant to the position;
  • Associate degree in criminal justice/security plus two years of security experience;
  • Three years of combined military, law enforcement, and/or corrections experience; or
  • Five years of verifiable commercial guard force experience.
