TemPositions Eden Hospitality is currently recruiting Security Manager for a renowned private membership club in NYC. A few points to note about the position are:

  • Position is direct hire 
  • 35-hour work week, but scheduled days may encompass 7 days so weekends and/or holidays will be required
  • Compensation is $70K yearly 

Summary

The Security Manager is responsible for overseeing daily security operations, protecting club assets, and ensuring the safety of all members, guests, and staff during their shift. Serving as the on-shift Fire Life Safety Director (FLSD), this role monitors compliance with local safety regulations, conducts internal investigations, and leads a team of security officers. The ideal candidate is a self-driven, detail-oriented leader with a strong background in hospitality security. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  
Team Leadership & Training 

  • Supervise, mentor, and train shift security officers on company policies, emergency procedures, and professional standards. 
  • Enforce strict compliance regarding staff punctuality, performance, and professional dress code/grooming standards. 
  • Cultivate a positive, collaborative team environment and motivate officers to maintain high alertness. 

Operations & Incident Management 

  • Manage comprehensive on-shift security operations and serve as the primary point of contact for safety matters. 
  • Respond promptly, calmly, and professionally to all guest, member, and staff complaints or assistance requests. 
  • Conduct thorough internal investigations into security incidents utilizing video surveillance systems and specialized security software. 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional security office and monitoring station. 

Communication & Reporting 

  • Maintain continuous communication and collaborate closely with the Manager on Duty (MOD) throughout the shift. 
  • Complete detailed shift logs and comprehensive incident reports to pass critical information to upper management. 

Fire, Life, and Safety Compliance 

  • Perform rigorous Fire Life Safety patrols of stairwells, corridors, and exits to ensure full compliance with municipal fire codes. 
  • Identify, document, and immediately report any facility deficiencies, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions. 
  • Ensure all club emergencies and safety procedures are strictly adhered to by staff and guests. 

Job Requirements & Qualifications 

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of security experience within the hospitality industry (hotels, high-end clubs or luxury venues).
  • Licensing & Certifications: 
    • Valid New York State (NYS) Security Guard License. 
    • Active FDNY Fire Life Safety Director Certification (F-89 or valid T-89 / Z-89 awaiting practical).
  • Schedule: Flexible availability, with the requirement to work nights, weekends, and holidays as operational needs dictate. 
  • Core Skills: Deep knowledge of workplace safety regulations, proficiency in video surveillance (CCTV) management, and basic computer/reporting programs. 
  • Professional Presence: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a polished professional appearance, and a resilient, positive attitude under pressure.
