Job description

About Acrisure:

A global fintech leader, Acrisure empowers millions of ambitious businesses and individuals with the right solutions to grow boldly forward. Bringing cutting-edge technology and top-tier human support together, we connect clients with customized solutions across a range of insurance, reinsurance, payroll, benefits, cybersecurity, mortgage services – and more.

In the last twelve years, Acrisure has grown in revenue from $38 million to almost $5 billion and employs over 19,000 colleagues in more than 20 countries. Acrisure was built on entrepreneurial spirit. Prioritizing leadership, accountability, and collaboration, we equip our teams to work at the highest levels possible.

Job Summary:

The Director, Security Engineering & Architecture leads the day‑to‑day execution and delivery of identity and security architecture/engineering capabilities across the enterprise. This role is accountable for managing teams responsible for identity and access management and security architecture patterns, ensuring solutions are implemented consistently, operate reliably, and align to standards defined by the Senior Director.

This is an execution‑focused leadership role. Success is measured by predictable delivery, scalable implementations, and strong partnership with Technology and Security Operations—not by owning enterprise‑level strategy or final architectural authority.

Responsibilities:

Identity & Access Management

  • Lead engineering teams responsible for workforce, third‑party, and service identity capabilities, including SSO, MFA, identity lifecycle, federation, and privileged access.
  • Execute and operationalize identity standards and roadmaps defined by the Senior Director.
  • Drive automation and consistency across onboarding, access changes, and offboarding to reduce manual work and operational risk.
  • Partner with IT, IAM operations, and application teams to embed identity controls into platforms and delivery workflows.
  • Partner with GRC and Internal Audit to streamline, automate, and optimize entitlement review activities across the enterprise.

Security Architecture & Engineering Execution

  • Lead security architects and engineers responsible for implementing approved security architectures across cloud, platform, and infrastructure environments.
  • Translate high‑level architecture standards and patterns into deployable designs and engineering work.
  • Ensure security designs are practical, repeatable, and support delivery timelines.
  • Support security design reviews by preparing recommendations, impacts, and remediation options for Senior Director review where required.

Cloud, Network & Platform Security (Execution Support)

  • Oversee engineering delivery for security controls across cloud, network, and infrastructure domains.
  • Partner with Technology teams to ensure controls are implemented consistently and align to enterprise standards.
  • Support M&A and integration efforts by executing identity and architecture requirements during onboarding and remediation phases.

Incident & Operations Partnership

  • Act as a technical escalation point for identity and architecture‑related incidents.
  • Partner with Security Operations to improve telemetry, resilience, and recovery through hardened designs and engineering fixes.
  • Drive post‑incident remediation work within the engineering teams to prevent recurrence.

Delivery, Metrics & Continuous Improvement

  • Own delivery plans, execution cadence, and prioritization for assigned engineering teams.
  • Track operational metrics related to availability, adoption, technical debt reduction, and control effectiveness.
  • Surface risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs early to the Senior Director with clear options and recommendations.

People Leadership

  • Directly manage engineering and architecture team managers and senior technical staff.
  • Set clear expectations for delivery, quality, and accountability.
  • Develop team capability through coaching, feedback, and targeted skill growth.
  • Build depth and resiliency across identity and architecture functions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent; architecture or cloud security certification strongly preferred; advanced degree a plus
  • 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering and architecture, including cloud, identity, and infrastructure security.
  • 5+ years of experience leading and developing senior technical teams.
  • Demonstrated experience operating in complex, high-growth, or M&A-heavy environments.
  • Strong background in security architecture, access management, cloud security, and enterprise-scale engineering.
  • Proven ability to communicate with senior technical and non-technical leaders and influence outcomes across teams.

Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
