Network Install Technicians Remote 50 miles within NCR 90% Travel ****All Applicants must live within a 50-mile radius of the National Capital Region.**** We are in search of a Senior Network Installation Technician at the customer site at Fort Meade, MD and will require travel. Network Migrations starting in July 2026 and going through Aug 2027. Our Opportunity: The Defense Enclave Services contract will unify the DOD Fourth Estate Defense Agencies and Field Activitiesโ common use information technology systems, personnel, functions and program elements under the direction of DISAโs Fourth Estate Network Optimization program office. This technician will support a large federal agencyโs Network Infrastructure through survey, design, and deployment of structured networks and will be responsible for the upkeep of the security posture of the environment. This is accomplished through projects such as new installations, life cycle replacement projects, Cable Plant and wireless installations that are compliant with commercial, TEMPEST, and NIST standards. Clearance Requirement: Secret Key Responsibilities: โข90-100% travel requirement. โขLead network survey, design and installations under direction of the government. โขConduct Site Surveys of customer premise networks in CONUS and OCONUS locations. โขInstall, connect, and test network infrastructure equipment (ex. Switches, firewalls, routers, wireless access points, and wireless controllers) โขCreate detailed Site Survey reports detailing a siteโs current infrastructure, NIST and TEMPEST compliance, along with design recommendations. โขConfigure, install, test, certify, and troubleshoot network infrastructure cabling. โขEnsure Network cabling infrastructure is compliant with current NIST and TEMPEST Standards. โขBuild and install equipment racks. โขInstall, dress, label, and terminate Cat6 and Fiber cable in telecommunications rooms. โขTest and troubleshoot network infrastructure issues on SIPR and NIPR networks. โขCreate accurate reports and documentation to design/certify network infrastructure. โขTrack, manage, and ensure project tasks are completed in a timely manner. โขDevelop Bills of Material (BOM) for network plant design requirements. โขPlan and perform preventive maintenance and scheduled upgrades (Life-cycle replacements) โขInvestigate physical faults in the network. โขReport network infrastructure deployment status to key stakeholders. โขHave flexible working hours to be available to support off hour work, when needed. Must haveโs: โขBachelorโs degree and 4 years of relevant experience; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree. โขUnderstanding of ANSI/TIA-568 and 569 standards. โขRequirements of Protective Distribution Systems (PDS) for Classified Systems as directed by Security and/or the Certified Tempest Technical Authority (CTTA). โขKnowledge of National Security Telecommunication & Information Systems Security Instruction (NTISSI) 7003. โขKnowledge of DISA network topologies and standards. โขTopology and rack elevations using Visio. โขExperience with various OTDR, cable testers, and network sniffers to develop reports for infrastructure certification documentation. Nice to haveโs: โขBICSI certification. โขSec+ certification. Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Range: $100,000-125,000 (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
