Job description

Assists the Director of Safety and Security in overseeing all aspects of the Security Department and operations. This includes coordination of security operations, as well as managing, training, and assessing performance of security personnel.

This is an overnight position (8pm - 4am) working Wednesday - Sunday.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Other duties that may be assigned:

  1. Promote guest service throughout the Security Department ensuring all Security team members interact with guests in a courteous, polite and professional manner.
  2. Safeguards assets of the company.
  3. Implements Security department policies and procedures as directed by management.
  4. Supervises all personnel assigned within the Security department.
  5. Plans and schedules security activities for each shift.
  6. Holds effective pre-shift meetings as needed to ensure the staff understands regulatory concerns, safety issues, and marketing events.
  7. Conducts follow-up investigations on reported incidents as needed.
  8. Investigates accident reports.
  9. Ensures that security personnel appearance standards are met.
  10. Conduct candidate interviews, hires, trains new hires; plan and assign duties; review performance and discipline, address complaints and resolve issues and problems.
  11. Conducts disciplinary actions, coaching and counseling with employees as needed.
  12. Assists in the development of safety and security policies and procedures.
  13. Ensures proper training of Mark Twain Security personnel in CPR, First Aid and/or First Responder.
  14. Assists in ensuring all necessary training modules and procedures for security staff.
  15. Adheres to safety rules and regulations of Security Department, MGC and Mark Twain Casino.
  16. Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES -To include interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; documenting concerns and discipline; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Must carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. All Employees must be knowledgeable of all Company policies and procedures, including fire and safety regulations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous Security and/or Casino experience preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

EMS/EMT First Responder Certification preferred.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Missouri Gaming License.

Must have a valid driver license and be approved to drive company vehicles.

SKILLS:

  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English.
  • Must have Microsoft Office experience and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and in a fast paced organization. Ability to multi-task.
