What is a security guard union?

A Security Guard Union is an organization that represents security guards and related personnel in negotiations with employers regarding wages, benefits, working conditions, and job security. These unions advocate for fair treatment, better pay, and safer working environments for their members. By joining a union, security guards can have a collective voice when addressing workplace issues and may receive support in resolving disputes with employers. Unions can also offer training, legal assistance, and other resources to their members.

To thrive as a Security Guard Union member, you generally need a high school diploma or equivalent, state-required security training, and a security license. Familiarity with surveillance systems, incident reporting software, and emergency communication tools is typically required.
