Position Summary

The Unarmed Security Guard is responsible for protecting clients, employees, visitors, property, and assets by maintaining a safe and secure environment. The Security Guard provides a professional, highly visible security presence and responds appropriately to safety and security concerns.

Essential Job Duties
  • Monitor and patrol assigned properties, buildings, parking areas, and surrounding grounds.

  • Maintain a visible security presence to deter theft, vandalism, trespassing, and other unauthorized activity.

  • Control and monitor access to the property as directed by the client.

  • Verify identification, credentials, employee badges, visitor passes, or other authorized access documents.

  • Monitor entrances, exits, gates, and restricted areas.

  • Conduct interior and exterior patrols according to the assigned post orders.

  • Observe security cameras and surveillance systems when assigned.

  • Identify and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, property damage, and security concerns.

  • Respond professionally to alarms, disturbances, emergencies, and other incidents.

  • Contact law enforcement, fire department, emergency medical services, or other emergency personnel when appropriate.

  • Prepare accurate and detailed daily activity reports and incident reports.

  • Document unusual activity, accidents, injuries, disturbances, and other significant events.

  • Assist authorized personnel and visitors with directions and general customer service.

  • Enforce client security policies and post orders within the guard's lawful authority.

  • Protect confidential information obtained while performing security duties.

  • Maintain professional communication with clients, employees, visitors, supervisors, and coworkers.
