Job description

Crawford - Security Guard
Job Overview: As a dayshift security guard, your priority will be ensuring the safety of our Manufacturing facility in Leavenworth, Indiana. In addition, you will be responsible for some light administrative support duties, including but not limited to assisting People Services with answering phones, monitoring/directing visitors when they enter the building, and answering general questions. Some light computer work is required with these tasks - must be familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Schedule:
  • Monday - Friday 6:30AM-3:00PM
  • Overtime
What you'll do:
  • Ensure emergencies are handled in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Ensure perimeter doors are locked and secured "not being propped open"
  • Assist Associates and/or visitors with questions, issues, and/or concerns
  • Basic administrative tasks as needed
  • Become familiar with the Security Emergency Manual & the Emergency Procedures Manual
  • Prevent & detect Intrusions/ensure facility is secure
  • Respond to and investigate alarms, investigate disturbances/incidents and unusual occurrences
  • Monitor and authorize entrance/exit of facility & property by Associates, visitors, vendors, and contractors to prevent shrinkage, maintain accountability of personnel, and provide a safe & secure facility
  • Complete reports: incidents and discrepancies relating to equipment/property damage.
  • Monitor theft/unsafe behavior
  • Handle authorized & unauthorized persons on property
  • Help Identify safety hazards
  • Daily activities, assist our headquarters facility with daytime security related tasks, help schedule facility's weekend security staff
  • Notify police, fire department, EMS in emergency situations (fire, intrusion, injury)
  • Monitor cameras
  • Phones (emergency calls receive & relay messages, answer questions for Associates, visitors, customers etc....)
  • Monitor in the event of Severe Weather
  • Manage and secure keys
  • Escort unauthorized personnel/trespassers off the property or detain if necessary
  • Notify management of locations in the event of an emergency (fire incidents/alarms, intrusions, severe weather incidents or other urgent needs for management)
  • Use Door control system to assist when doors need to be open and/or secured
Qualifications:
  • The ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move materials up to 50lbs
  • The ability to stand or walk an entire shift (can be approx. 8-10 hours)

  • Starting rate $20+/hour, based on experience
