What You'll Do

As a Water Quality Consultant, you'll work with industrial and commercial clients throughout Texas and the Gulf Coast, providing practical solutions to environmental permitting and compliance challenges.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and support water quality permitting and compliance projects from planning through completion.
  • Prepare permit applications, compliance reports, technical memoranda, and regulatory correspondence.
  • Coordinate and conduct water quality, groundwater, stormwater, and wastewater monitoring programs and field investigations.
  • Evaluate environmental data and develop technical analyses and recommendations.
    • Support permitting and compliance programs, including:
    • TPDES/NPDES wastewater permitting
    • Stormwater compliance
    • SPCC Plans
    • FRPs
    • Industrial wastewater compliance
    • Groundwater and surface water monitoring
  • Coordinate with clients, laboratories, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables with increasing independence.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients by delivering practical, high-quality environmental solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineers, scientists, geologists, and other technical professionals on multidisciplinary projects.
  • As your experience grows, take on increasing responsibility for project management, client development, mentoring junior staff, and business development.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Three (3) or more years of environmental consulting experience with water quality permitting, compliance, or related environmental projects.
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • Water quality permitting
    • Industrial wastewater compliance
    • Stormwater compliance
    • Groundwater investigations
    • Surface water monitoring
    • Environmental sampling
  • Working knowledge of the Clean Water Act and TPDES/NPDES permitting programs.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional client service.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with five to seven years of consulting experience who are looking for increased project responsibility are encouraged to apply.

Additional experience in any of the following is a plus:

  • Preparing permit applications and regulatory reports
  • Industrial wastewater permitting and compliance
  • SPCC Plans
  • SWPPPs
  • Managing project budgets and schedules
  • Direct client interaction and relationship management
  • Mentoring junior staff

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Must meet all Drug & Alcohol, Health & Safety, and Security Program requirements.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to safely operate a company vehicle, including a full-size pickup truck.
