Compensation: Base rate: $20/hour, post rate shifts: may offer a +$1-$5/hr differential.
Part time role - Saturday & Sunday 10p-6a - bi weekly pay

POSITION SUMMARY:
Supports safety and security operations through patrols, monitoring, access control, and customer assistance, adapting to site-specific requirements and client expectations.
Responsibilities
You will conduct the following responsibilities upholding Tarian's commitment to safety and security while supporting the values and culture of the client and community.
  • Healthcare Security Officers are responsible for maintaining the security and safety of the hospital, its staff, and its patients and visitors - and serve as a visible deterrent to illegal activities on hospital property.
  • Responsible for access control, camera monitoring and patrols.
  • Assist the nursing staff by providing constant observation of patients to include the following
    • Assist with patient restraints
    • Take the necessary steps (Verbal and Physical) to prevent the patient from engaging in negative behaviors. These behaviors include self-harming/suicidal intentions, homicidal/assaultive intentions, removal of IV/picc lines, and elopement.
    • Notifies nursing staff and/or security as needed when additional assistance is required.
    • Records and reports the patient's behaviors throughout the shift to the Nursing Team
    • Judgment is required in anticipating the needs of the patient in a variety of situations and selecting the appropriate response. If the patient is physically escalating, you may need to use physical restraint to de-escalate.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Completed High School Diploma or GED
  • Complete Immunization records:
    • MMR
    • Varicella
    • Tdap
    • Hep B
    • TB (dated within 90 days of employment)
    • Covid (Booster is required if eligible)
    • Flu (current year)

  • Training - 2 days paid training.
    • Both days of training are in-person at one of the offices in Quincy or Worcester, MA.
**Both days of training must be completed with us regardless of completing it elsewhere.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work hours will vary depending on assignments, client schedules, project deadlines, and the needs of the company. Workweeks may exceed 40 hours and may involve any of the 7 days of the week, depending on the needs of the business. The work environment may be fast-paced and stressful or may also be quiet and slow-paced. All environments and pace of work will require alertness and ability to perform under pressure.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit, stand, and walk for variable amounts of time throughout an assigned shift; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects 25 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Frequently engages in mental concentration, analysis, and formulation.
