Job Summary:
All positions require the ability to work retail store business hours, meaning long periods of time standing and actively patrolling the retail space - may come in contact with perfumes & aerosols. Regular attendance is expected, and actual hours and schedules are flexible and will be based on availability and business needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security/safety of premises
  • Guard, patrol, and monitor industrial or commercial premises to prevent safety hazards, theft, violence, or infractions of rules
  • Enforce rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, and respond to emergency situations requiring security assistance
  • Write detailed narrative reports and maintain daily activity reports (DARs)
  • Provide assistance to customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
  • Monitor for irregular or unusual activity
  • Secure facility and designated areas
  • Enforce facility and company policies and procedures
  • Investigate and prepare reports on incidents
  • Alertly monitor CCTV cameras focused on protecting employees, assets and brand Remotely support the prevention and apprehension of external and internal theft in accordance with company policy
  • Remain calm and clearly communicate with onsite assets protection security, law enforcement, and store leadership Professionally document and escalate all incidents in accordance with procedures
  • Leverage technology tools and resources to make timely, intelligence-led, data-driven business decisions
Qualifications:
  • Must possess high integrity, trust, accountability, and work ethic
  • Previous retail loss prevention, security operations center, CCTV monitoring, security, customer service, or criminal justice experience preferred
  • Knowledge of how to use CCTV security systems and radio communications
  • Ability to work well independently and as a team
  • Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft office software
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and public holidays
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must have a valid DCJS Security Guard License
  • Must have two (2) years of experience as a security officer, at least 1 year in retail security
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must have good communications skills
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods
  • Must be able to walk/run flights of stairs on a daily basis.
  • Ability to think clearly during crisis or high-stress periods
