The Staten Island Workforce1 Career Center is partnering with Metro One Loss Prevention Services Group to find qualified candidates for a Security Guard position in Staten Island, New York. Metro One Security is a nationally recognized security and loss prevention company that has served clients since 1994. The company provides professional security services across retail, logistics, and other high-risk environments, with a focus on protecting people, property, and company assets. Metro One emphasizes reliability, professionalism, training, and accountability while providing site-specific training and opportunities for employees to develop their skills and advance into leadership and supervisory positions.

Position Overview

The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and orderly environment throughout the warehouse and surrounding property. Responsibilities include monitoring facility access, conducting routine patrols, monitoring security cameras, preventing unauthorized entry, protecting company property and inventory, and responding promptly to security incidents and emergencies. The guard will document incidents and daily activities, communicate security concerns to warehouse management, and help ensure all company safety and security procedures are followed. This position requires a professional, alert, dependable, and proactive approach, with opportunities for advancement into higher-level security or supervisory roles based on performance.

This position is located in Staten Island, New York. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and control access to the warehouse.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the facility and surrounding areas.
  • Monitor security cameras and identify suspicious activity.

  • Prevent and report unauthorized access or security violations.

Requirements
  • Must have a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Must have a stable employment history with a minimum of five years of consistent work experience. No more than 3 jobs within the past 6 years. No employment gap of more than 6 consecutive months within the past 6 years.
  • Previous work experience does not have to be in security!
  • Must have not worked for Amazon warehouses in the past. 
  • Must demonstrate reliability and punctuality.
  • Must have strong communication and observation skills.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Must be able to remain alert and attentive throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be willing to follow all company and site-specific policies and procedures.
